This week on the European Tour it is the Turkish Airlines Open.

This tournament takes place at the Montgomerie Maxx Royal, which is in Antalya.

The big news for this one is that Rory McIlroy is participating. This is tremendous – the reason for that is because Rory pushes the odds of everyone else. McIlroy is an insane 4/1 on a course he has never played on before. While the field is weak compared to Rory – we’ve not seen anything from him lately to really suggest he’s at the top of his game.

In saying that it could be an easy bounce back tournament for him. However we shall look elsewhere.

Turkish Airlines 2015 Betting Odds:

  1. Rory McIlroy: 4/1
  2. Shane Lowry: 14/1
  3. Bernd Wiesberger: 18/1
  4. Matthew Fitzpatrick: 20/1
  5. Andy Sullivan: 20/1
  6. Charl Schwartzel: 22/1
  7. Danny Willett: 22/1
  8. Ian Poulter: 25/1
  9. Chris Wood: 25/1
  10. Thomas Pieters: 30/1

Turkish Airlines Betting Tip #1: Ian Poulter

No question about Ian Poulters form at the Turkish Airlines. In the two tournaments there has been he has came 5th in 2013 and 2nd in 2014. Surely Poulter is just getting better each time here?

We hope so anyway. He’s had solid if unremarkable results as of late. At the big tournaments he usually gets cut but he has been solid at the smaller tournaments like the Crowne Plaza Invitational in May where he got a 5th place.

We’ll take half a unit on Poulter to win and E/W.

Bet: Ian Poulter 25/1 at .

Turkish Airlines Betting Tip #2: Matthew FItzpatrick

Another half unit bet – this time on the 20/1 Matthew Fitzpatrick. He’s never played here before but the guy is on some incredible form in the European Tour. He recently won the British Masters and also has a few top 5 finishes to his name. Those are at some tough courses like the UBS Hong Kong Open, the Czech Masters and the Italian Open.

Fitzpatrick could be just a flash in the pan but so far he is showing some excellent quality golf with pressure not getting to him. He seems like someone who will be very course dependent – but we’re on Fitzpatrick for a half unit to keep his form going.

Bet: Matthew Fitzpatrick to win and choose E/W. Bet it at .

Turkish Airlines Betting Tip #3: 4 Dark Horses

We do this occasionally. We don’t feel super strong about anyone but we do like a few golfers. So here is what we do – we take a unit, split it quarter ways through 4 golfers. It also allows us a bit of flexibility – sometimes we’re so strict with betting and that’s boring. It’s nice taking a shot occassionally.

Here’s what we have this time – all a quarter unit to win and E/W:

Kiradech Aphibarnrat: Played here two years ago, only came 54th. But on some excellent form. Granted some of that was the Match Play and Links Championships but he’s shown he can play some great golf, and with 2 wins this season why the hell not? 40/1.

Ross Fisher: 10th and 25th here. On a poor run but he did have a top 5 place a few weeks back. 80/1

Lucas Bjerregaard: Have to include the Dane. His form is immense like at the Portugal Masters, Hong Kong Open etc. 50/1.

Andy Sullivan: Won the Portugal Masters. 4th here last time out. Why the hell not.

Bet: Bet all these at .
