Well there’s really not too much football going on right now but I should take advantage of that and get to doing some stats based picks which are my favourite.
The Finnish Veikkausliiga has had about 11-12 games played for most teams so that gives us a fair bit of data to go on.
As far as I am aware advanced metrics aren’t available for this league so it’s all about analyzing basic data.
There are two games taking place on Tuesday, September 1st that we’ll look at.
Looking ahead to the rest of the week – meh, not much on the go. So even more reason to tip these games then.
FC Haka vs FC Ilves Betting Tips:
FC Haka are 3.60 underdogs here with FC Ilves 2.05 favourites and the draw at 3.40 odds.
FC Haka are second bottom of the league. Ilves are joint 6th in the league on 16 points however there is a decent 5 point gap between them and 9th place SJK.
Haka have performed well their last two matches after a brutal run with a win over HIFK and a draw against FC Lahti. Considering both teams are in that mid-tier echelon and on the same points as Ilves that is cause for concern for Ilves.
Ilves also have a poor away record this year with a 1-1-3 record. That includes a draw to bottom club Rovaniemi who have exactly 2 points this season.
Wouldn’t surprise me if FC Haka get something from this game.

FC Honka vs HIFK Betting Tips:
4th in the league, FC Honka are 1.72 favourites here as they take on HIFK. HIFK are 3 points behind them in 7th place.
Honka come in on just excellent form. Defensively they are a juggernaut right now and have the best defensive record in the league
HIFK come in struggling on the back of three losses to TPS, Haka and Inter Turku.
I like Honka to continue their impressive record. The draw is always a possibility as Honka aren’t the best goalscorers however I think with the way HIFK are stumbling at the moment, they can get the win. It’s not an ideal match for HIFK looking to get back on track.
