Well it was a fun group stage but now we’re onto the knockout rounds. Although with Scotland not in them, does anyone really care?

We ended on a banger of a day. The whole Germany/Hungry and Portugal/France matchups and how the standings kept changing were just phenomenal. So fun.

I’m actually off to a cottage for a week but luckily it has satellite TV there and wifi. So should be no interruption with the tips. We actually arrive there at 12pm so the wife is going to have fun packing by herself while I watch Wales vs Denmark.

Wales finished 2nd in their group as did Denmark. Wales drew with Switzerland (after a bad sub by the Swiss), defeated the “dark horses” Turkey and didn’t cause Italy any real issues in a 1-0 loss.

Denmark managed to go through despite losing twice. Losses to Finland and Belgium – both really tough for really different reasons – before a big win over the Russians.

I went back and watched all three Welsh matchups in the last few days. I didn’t rate them before the tournament and I wanted to give me a chance to re-evalute.

I’ll be honest – I’m not sold on them at all. Turkey just seem terrible. You then have the messed up fan situation where the Danes get fans here and Wales don’t. That sucks for Wales as Denmark are thriving on that.

It’s tough because the odds are mental. I wouldn’t fault anyone taking Wales or Wales or Draw, but I am going to go with the team with the huge momentum. Not a big bet though.

Italy vs Austria Betting Tips:

I can’t wait for Italy to face a real challenge. This isnt it. Only problem with this bet is the potential Chiellini and Florenzi injuries. I did like the Austria tactical change against Ukraine that brought Alaba into the game more. I respect tactical changes like that.
