This week, we have the WGC Bridgestone Invitiational.

This event is just prior to the final major of this season, and it’s always a good one. If you look at the history of this event it’s often a lot of the key golfers who are the ones that win it.

Last year Rory McIlroy won it, the week prior to going on to win the PGA Championship. In 2013 it was Tiger Woods that won it In 2012 it was Keegan Bradley that took it down. So amidst a tight field, quality is what wins out.

Speaking of quality – hats off to our 35/1 pick Scott Henry who came 2nd last week in the European Tour. We just couldn’t get that full cash but still a decent score:

Winner, Winner, Chicken Dinner.

Alright in this tight field of less than 100 players, let’s see who the favourites are:

WGC Bridgestone Invitational 2015 Betting Odds:

  1. Jordan Spieth: 11/2
  2. Dustin Johnson: 14/1
  3. Jason Day: 14/1
  4. Justin Rose: 16/1
  5. Adam Scott: 16/1
  6. Rickie Fowler: 16/1
  7. Louis Oosthuizen: 22/1
  8. Henrik Stenson: 25/1
  9. Bubba Watson: 28/1
  10. Sergio Garcia: 28/1

Some good odds with Spieth in there getting a lot of the action. Let’s see what we got:

WGC Bridgestone Invitational Betting Tip #1: Keegan Bradley

Considering his current form it’s a bit of a risk betting Bradley, but his form on this course and the odds warrant a quarter unit bet.

In the last 3 years he’s had 3 top 5 finishes, and as we bet him to win and E/W then that’s perfect.

Of course his form right now his very disappointing – but he did sneak an 8th place in the Memorial Tournament early June, and he’s had a few Top 5 finishes this season. Bradley has to go into this one confident and that’s when he plays his best golf.

Bet: Quarter unit on Keegan Bradley to win and E/W at .

WGC Bridgestone Invitational Betting Tip #2: Jim Furyk

Jim Furyk comes into this on the back of some fine form. He came 4th at the RBC Championship with an excellent -14, and had a -6 at the Open Championship. he also won the RBC Heritage back in April.

He didn’t play last week so he’s well rested, and coming into a tournament he has a fine history at. You have to think Furyk has a solid chance at another Top 5 position, and we’ll take him at 40/1 with another quarter unit bet.

Bet: You can get 40/1 on Furyk to win and E/W at .

WGC Bridgestone Invitational Betting Tip #3: Hideki Matsuyama

Matsuyama has really stood out this year with his driving game, as well as solid GIR. His one weakness is his putting but we’ve seen some solid performances from him this year when it comes to the putting, and it was what gave him a respectable finish here last year.

We’ll take another quarter unit bet on Matsuyama.

Bet: You can get a solid 28/1 on Matsuyama at .

Finally with 3 quarter unit bets, we’ll place one more quarter unit on Dustin Johnson to win. He’s played here before and hasn’t looked impressive – but with the Open behind him and a poor performance last time out – we think he will come out fairly motivated for this one.
