Probably the weakest of the WGC events – but this week we have the WGC HSBC Champions Tournament.

It takes place in China, where Bubba Watson won it last year. He had to go to a playoff to do that against Tim Clark. It’s a good tournament because it’s always been tight – there’s been multiple playoffs and the highest distance between winners was 3 strokes.

We had a nice little win in midweek with the barn rat in the Turkish Airlines Open. Here’s that slip:

Only one two time winner which is Phil Mickelson. The big man won it in both 2007 and 2009.

Let’s check out the betting odds for the WGC HSBC Champions:

WGC HSBS Champions 2015 Betting Odds:

  1. Rory McIlroy: 11/2
  2. Jordan Spieth: 8/1
  3. Bubba Watson: 14/1
  4. Dustin Johnson: 16/1
  5. Henrik Stenson: 18/1
  6. Adam Scott: 18/1
  7. Rickie Fowler: 20/1
  8. Hideki Matsuyama: 22/1
  9. Kevin Na: 28/1
  10. Justin Thomas: 28/1

Interesting field. Surprised Rory is top of the list. Let’s get to the tips:

WGC HSBC Champions Betting Tip #1: Jordan Spieth

As we saw at the Turkish Airlines Open – Rory doesn’t seem to be himself. And he has health issues too going into this tournament. Yeah let’s stay clear of him.

Jordan Spieth is nice and rested. He hasn’t played since the end of September in the Tour Championship – which he won, BTW. And not to brag but we won on Spieth there:

We’ll be backing Spieth again. We said last time that we saw the resurgence in form of him – and we’re going to hope that he continues that. For some golfers the break actually isn’t good – for Spieth we’ll be backing that it is, and that he takes the win. He hasn’t really excelled at this course – far from it – but on his day no-one cean beat him.

Bet: Jordan Spieth to win, a full unit. 8/1 at .

WGC HSBC Championship Betting Tip #2: Bubba Watson

Bubba Watson hasn’t played in awhile either – but in his last few tournaments he was on excellent form. He’s going to a tournament and a course that he won on just a year ago. He’s had solid results when playing here before – 8th in 2012. We’ll be placing a half unit on Bubba Watson, and going with E/W.

Bet: Bubba Watson to win and E/W. 14/1 at and we will be betting half a unit.

WGC HSBC Championship Betting Tip #3: Paul Casey

Some excellent form over the years here by Paul Casey with multiple top 10 finishes. It’s a course he really does well on.

he played at the CIMB Classic last week and while he only came 24th and -13 he looked solid. It could be he was prepping for this tournament and considered that a warm up.

We were hoping for some really nice odds on him but 30/1 is okay. We’ll go with a quarter unit on here.

Bet: Quarter unit bet on Paul Casey 30/1 to win and E/W at .
