It’s the first World Golf Championshp event of the year, and it is taking place at the TPC Blue Monster at Doral.

This course recently went through a big redesign and it’s for the better. We saw the new one last year and it is really something else.

Last year, Patrick Reed won the event. It was very tight, with Bubba Watson close beyind him in this tight course. Rory McIlroy struggled all the time with only one day where he came under par.

Tiger Woods – remember him? He won the year before.

This should be quite the tournament with it being the first WGC event of the season, and we’re excited to see how they all play on this tricky course. Let’s get to the tips and the odds:

WGC Cadillac Championship 2015 Betting Odds:

  1. Rory McIlroy: 11/2
  2. Jason Day: 14/1
  3. Bubba Watson: 16/1
  4. Jordan Spieth: 18/1
  5. Dustin Johnson: 20/1
  6. Phil Mickelson: 25/1
  7. Adam Scott: 25/1
  8. Patrick Reed: 25/1
  9. Henrik Stenson: 30/1
  10. Hideki Matasuyama: 30/1

Also priced at 30/1 is Brooks Koepka and Jimmy Walker. As per usual, Rory McIlroy inflates the prices of everyone else which we love. Also, are doing Top 5 E/W which is really nice considering the small field and it really increases the odds.

Winner #1: Bubba Watson

We like Bubba Watson at 16/1. He’s long off the tee, and had great scrambling statistics last year. Although it’s early in the season he’s currently the top golfer when it comes to the par 5s.

Watson is coming into this one on the back of some fine form. He’s had 4 out of 4 finishes in the top 15 this year, with a 2nd place at the Northern Trust Open and he won the last WGC Event of 2014 – which is part of the 2015 tournament log.

Watson is a good price and he is being very selective in the tournaments he participates in. Let’s go with the American to do the business.

Bet: Watson E/W 16/1 at .

Winner #2:Branden Grace

The on again, off again form of Branden Grace sees him warrant a quarter unit bet.

He is priced at 60/1 which is just too high, considering some of his results. He’s coming off a break having skipped the last tournament. Last year on this course he had a rough outing, but he also shot a 69 one round which is nothing to be sneezed at. he ended up tied 40th at +7. Sounds bad right? But even 2 better strokes and he’s suddenly tied 25th, or one better stroke for 16th.

Grace is a long shot bet but one we think is worth it.

Bet: Quarter Unit on Branden Grace E/W 60/1 at .

WGC CADILLAC RESULTS & ANALYSIS:

Our long shot bet of Branden Grace didn’t pay off. He was poor practically the whole tournament to end up at +8. However our bet of Bubba Watson did – and it could have been even better! Bubba was leading at one point on the last day. Unfortunately he had a few poor holes, and ended up just -1 for the day to come in 3rd. Here’s the bet receipt:

One of those where you win and feel happy – but are still sitting there frustrated knowing it could have been so much more, especially with the epic collapse of J.B. Holmes.
