Friday, April 19th sees a lot of action taking place in the lower English leagues, and I thought we’d do some English Championship tips on this day.

The race is heating up at the top. Norwich are looking good for automatic promotion but it’s a tight battle between Leeds and Sheffield United.

Aston Villa are on a tear and might just be in the playoffs for sure it looks like. But there are still a few teams fighting over that last spot.

At the bottom, Ipswich and Bolton are both going down. However there are still quite a few teams not safe and it’s going to make for an interesting final few games.

Let’s get to the tips for Friday, April 19th:

Middlesbrough vs Stoke Betting Tips:

It was a bad run for Boro for awhile, but they recently turned their form around with a couple of solid defensive first performances. The game against Bolton was just what they needed and they followed that up with a crucial 1-0 win at home to Hull City.

Now they go against a Stoke City team who can’t get promoted, are safe from relegation and generally just playing the season out.

To their credit, Stoke have actually had some solid performances lately. Even away they have been doing it. Stifling teams and putting on solid defensive performances of their own.

Boro have had real issues scoring goals over the course of the season but I just think they have what it takes to grind out a 1-0 or 2-0 win here.

West Bromwich Albion vs Hull City Betting Tips:

I think we’re getting a solid little price on WBA at the moment.

They had a couple of tough games away but they have been overall solid this season and I see this similar against a Hull team reeling after that Boro loss.

That was a crushing one for them after a run of three games with a win and it iwll have seriously dented their promotional dreams. That was a 6 pointer that they lost.

WBA are getting in the playoffs and that’s it – they can’t catch Leeds but they have been doing solid.

I think WBA can take this one against Hull, who generally struggle away.

That’s all I’ve got actually. There’s a lot of potential picks but the odds just aren’t good enough and I don’t think the handicaps are worth the bet.
