So last week was an FA Cup Special for fans of Mark Lawrenson. And you know how I complained that the previous round was boring? Well, last week wasn’t half bad when it comes to shocks and excitement. Yes, Chelsea thumped Manchester City’s under-16 side 5-1 and kept their hopes alive of winning some silverware this season. And high-flying Spurs were also punted out of the FA Cup by Crystal Palace. But then during the week, things got a lot better for Manchester, as both sides, City and United made it through in Europe. The prize for Manchester United? A tie with Liverpool in the next round of the Europa League and a few more injuries. So it’s been one hell of week in English football. And now that we’re back to Premiership action (and also the Carling Cup Final), Lawro is hopefully going to be ready to get back to winning ways.

Yes, Lawro failed big time last week in the FA Cup, after going so well the round before. He predicted four correct results, with no correct scores. Yes, he predicted the Chelsea win, and he also got the Manchester United win, the West Ham win and the Watford win, but he put too much faith in West Brom for a start, and not getting and correct scores means he came in with a lose of -8.94 units. So now our season loss is getting bigger again, now sitting at -53.76 units. It’s actually not got to a point where even ardent followers of Lawro must see that he is not clutching at straws when it comes to his predictions. We noticed a long time ago the way he picks the same safe scores every week, and hopefully he’ll change his plan soon, because his results are just so poor it’s starting to be pathetic rather than just funny. Still, we have to keep faith, because you know what, a couple of correct scores gets us back on track for the 2015/2016 English Premiership season, which can’t be too hard for a so-called football expert.

And remember, this week we also have the Carling Cup Final between Liverpool and Manchester City, and Lawro has made a prediction for Sunday’s match, as well as his usual Premiership predictions. We’ll count this towards his season total, because you know what, anything to try and get back to a respectable total for the season.

And before the games all kick off, remember to head over to our good friends at Bet365, and they are, of course, still doing their Bore Draw promotion for this week’s fixtures. So there we go, another week of Premiship predictions by the so-called legend that is Mark Lawrenson, as well as Lawro’s prediction for the Carling Cup Final on Sunday. Now, did anyone seriously think he was going to predict anything other than a Liverpool win? It’s quite embarrassing, to be fair. He’s such a Liverpool fan boy, and it’s cost us a fortune this season! Still, what do I know? He’s the expert, and if Liverpool do win, it’s a nice enough price. Let’s just hope they win 2-1, too, and we can cop a correct score win.

Remember to place your bets at Bet365 through the link below, where you will get up to £200 free and place a bet on the game prior to kick-off on the correct score, half-time/full-time or scorecast market, and if the game ends 0-0 you will get your stake refunded, which is always nice.
