Uh, what happened in the English Premiership this week? We got the usual results over the weekend, sure, but then everything just went completely mental during the midweek fixtures. In fact, out of the top four teams, the only side to get a point was Leicester, who picked up a point with their 2-2 against West Brom. Tottenham had a chance to go top of the league, they lost to West Ham. Arsenal could have closed the gap, the lost to Swansea, and as For Manchester City, somehow they lost 3-0 to Liverpool, after beating them on penalties in the Carling Cup Final on Sunday. So now Leicester are 3 point clear of Tottenham at the top of the table, and Manchester United are now level on points with Manchester City and are back to challenging for a Champions League place. It’s amazing how one round of fixtures can shake things up. Oh, and at the bottom, Aston Villa are still stinking up the place.

Now, I have to say, Lawro did make predictions for the midweek fixtures, but we don’t cover these in the audit, as we can’t afford to back all his awful predictions. No, it’s actually scheduling conflicts, but the way Lawro’s been going as of late, it’s a fair enough reason, surely. Now, last weekend, Lawro didn’t do too poorly, I have to note that his blind faith in Liverpool did not pay off, as they drew with Manchester City in regulation time, then lost on penalties, while Lawro predicted a win like the predictable mug that he is. But apart from that, he picked up five correct results, but was not able to come up with any correct scores. So all that means is that Lawro once again had a loss, and this time it’s a loss of -6.7 units. That means are season loss continues to plunge further into the pits of despair, as it now sits at -60.46 units. Yes, it could be worse, we could be following Mark Lawrenson’s midweek tips, which would no doubt have caused the bailiffs to come knocking at our down. However, the good news is that the end of the season is drawing ever closer, which means the damage Lawro can do to us each week is become less and less.

And I also can’t forget my usual plug for the good team at Bet365, who are doing still doing their Bore Draw promotion this week. If you don’t know how it works by now then read up. So it looks like Lawro sees Leicester consolidating their position at the top of the English Premiership, and if those results do pan out the way he’s predicting, there will be a five point gap opening up for The Foxes over Spurs. Of course, since it’s Lawro, take his predictions with a huge pinch of salt. He’s also shocked me by not predicting a Liverpool win, instead opting for the draw against Crystal Palace. Weird, right? He’s also thinking that Manchester United’s resurgence is going to slow down away to West Brom, which is a bit of a controversial selection. So, yeah, some interesting predictions made by Mark Lawrenson this week, and maybe he’s trying something a bit different, although I think it’s a case of too little, too late, isn’t it?
