So it’s all over in terms of the EPL title, and everyone bar Tottenham Hotspur fans will have been delighted with Monday night’s result, as Chelsea pegged back Spurs from 2-0 to get a dramatic 2-2 at Stamford Bridge. It’s capped an amazing season for Leicester City and their fans, as the rank outsiders have been there or thereabouts all season, and didn’t really let up when it came to the performances. That’s not to say that Tottenham don’t deserve plaudits for their performance this season, as both they and Leicester broke the stranglehold of the Big 4 this season. So all that’s left is to finalise the European placings and settle the matter of relegations. The relegation battle got interesting last week with Newcastle getting a huge win over Crystal Palace, while Sunderland and Norwich dropped points. At least one big North East club will be heading into the Championship, and if Norwich have anything to say about it, it’ll be two.

So, how did Mark Lawrenson get on last week, when the season was more or less over? Did he curl up and die, costing us a small fortune as he’s done for most of the season? Or did he attemptt o go out in a blaze of glory and make us some nice cash money so we can still afford to have a wager on Euro 2016? Come on, what do you think? Of course Lawro went out in a blaze of glory. Yes, he copped not only 7 correct results in his predictions, but he nailed 3, yes, 3, correct scores. But what kind of profit did that make us last week? Well, he only went and won us 19.66 units! Yes, it’s probably too little too late, but what a week! If he keeps that up, we might not even be at a loss come the end of the season. Of course, we currently have a loss of -46.10 units, so he’ll still need to improve a bit over the last couple of weeks to stop this from being a miserable season. But, hey, strangers things have happened, including a 5,000-1 shot winning the EPL. Speaking of which, it’s interesting to see where Lawro’s predictions would have Leicester in the league currently. He’d have them 12th. The only team he’s predicted worse is West Ham, who he would have at 18th in the league is all his predictions were correct. The other fun thing to note is that Lawro has only predicted 1 win for Aston Villa all season, and 3 draws. Seriously, he’s predicted them to score 6 points all season. What a great season he’s had.

Before the 2016 European Championships start next month, I have to take the time to remind you of the great offers at Bet365, so go and make the most of their Bore Draw promotion, especially with a lot of meaningless fixtures in the EPL between now and the end of the season. If you’re not familiar with the Bore Draw promotion, if you place a bet of up to on any of the correct score, half-time/full-time or scorecast markets, and the game finishes 0-0, Bet365 will refund your money. So if the game ends up a stinker, you’ve followed Lawro’s prediction on it, but it’s 0-0, it’s cash back – not bad at all.

There you have it, Mark Lawrenson’s predictions for this week’s EPL games, and it’s not that easy a week to predict, with several matches now more or less dead rubbers, with teams having one eye on a nice beach somewhere a lot warmer than England. And if Leicester can get a win over Manchester United, it means that Tottenham’s game on Monday will essentially be a dead rubber, too, as Leicester City will be the EPL Champions for the 2015/2016 season, and no doubt you’ll be able to hear the roar of the Foxes can no matter where you are in the UK. And if Leicester can’t do it in Sunday afternoon, they can still look to Chelsea to finish Spurs’ EPL title hopes off at Stamford Bridge on Monday night. Whatever happens, this weekend of football looks incredibly exciting.
