The Dallas Mavericks won last night in one of the greatest game-to-game turnarounds I can ever remember happening in the NBA. The Mavericks were absolutely embarrassed on Saturday night by the Thunder as they lost by 38 points. It could’ve been a lot worse than that if the Thunder had kept trying, but by the fourth quarter it was time for the reserves. Despite that crazy loss and all signs pointing to a sweep for the Thunder, the Mavs came back and won a tight game last night. They did it through a combination of great coaching, Kevin Durant’s worst ever playoff game and luck. Still, that sure fire sweep is now a series tied 1-1 and heading back to Dallas. That’s the joy of the NBA playoffs.

Tonight we have the Spurs in action. Similarly to the Thunder, they dominated the Grizzlies in game one. Unlike the Thunder, they are likely to get things done again tonight as they are too well coached, too deep and too great to lose to a team like the Grizzlies. The best game on the slate tonight is Game Two of the Celtics-Hawks series. This was probably the best game of the weekend and I’m excited to see what these great coaches have in store for game two.

Of course, we have some great MLB tips for you as well so let’s get right into it.

MLB Betting Tips:

The Chicago Cubs are for real this season. Everything just seems to be going right for them thus far this season and a big part of them taking the next step as a team is overcoming the St. Louis Cardinals. St. Louis has dominated the NL Central for the past several seasons with the Cubs playing second fiddle. I think this series is a big one (well, at least as big as an April series can be) and I think the Cubs want to win it. Jason Hammel has looked great in his first couple starts and the Cubs have done better against lefties thus far this season as well. There is just a lot to like here and I’m taking the Cubs +125.

There’s also a decent early season battle for the AL East going tonight with the Blue Jays taking on the Orioles. These two teams just straight up mash and tonight I expect them to do a lot of that. The total on this one is set at eight and half runs and either one of these teams could get there on their own. I like the Jays to win it with Stroman on the mound, but I just feel like the ball is going to be flying all over the park in Baltimore. I’m all over this Jays/Orioles Over 8.5.

NBA Betting Tips:

The Celtics and Hawks played a great game in game one and I think that they are just so evenly matched that a -6.5 point spread is ridiculous. These two teams do a lot of the same things and both make smart decisions on both ends of the floor. The Celtics were able to keep the last one close down to the final minute despite the fact that they shot just 36% from the floor. If they are able to shoot a little bit better in this one they are likely to be right in this til the end. Celtics +6.5

18.5 points is absolutely mental, but betting against the Spurs is a terrible idea. I hate laying this many points, but the Grizzlies deserve it. They are terrible. Spurs -18.5 is the play. They watched Dallas-OKC last night and they won’t let that happen to them. They are too good for that.
