You know, the golf at the weekend was sickening for a couple of reasons. Yes, Jim Furyk got us a place at 35/1, which is a nice return on our each-way bet, but the fact he was in contention until the final round just sums up the volatile nature of golf. But what is even worse is Andres Romero’s behaviour at the Barracuda Championship. He was smack bang in contention to win, and then because he wasn’t happy with his tee-off, he punched a sign, injured his hand, teed off with a putter on the remaining holes, took the worst score possible and withdrew at the end of the third round. Now, we can handle a player not shooting a low enough round to win, like Jim Furyk did, that’s just the nature of golf. But for Andres Romero to actually punch a sign, forcing him to withdraw, it beggars belief.

Anyway, enough of the moaning. How about West Ham? Petr Cech had a Premier League debut for Arsenal to forget. The Gunner couldn’t score, they shipped to shockers and West Ham’s Premier League season got off to the best possible start. For a team that was being written off, especially after their dismal Europa League qualifying performance, it’s a great ‘up yours’ to their detractors. Liverpool got a nice win over Stoke in a game that was definitely one to forget. It had low-scoring all over it, and 1-0 is basically the result everyone expected. Tonight, West Brom host Manchester City in a welcome return for Monday Night Football (no, not THAT kind of Monday Night Football!).

So, let’s get onto the free sports betting tips for August 10th, 2015.

West Brom vs Manchester City Betting Tips:

All the other title contenders have started their season with unimpressive performances, Manchester United and Liverpool getting 1-0 wins against perceived weaker opposition, while Chelsea slipped up with a 2-2 with Swansea. So, if Manchester City can put in a solid performance tonight against West Brom, their fans will be confident for the remaining 37 games of the season. But are West Brom going to pose a problem? Well, they’re looking solid enough up front and the addition of Rickie Lambert is going to be a huge bonus. But Manchester City are almost at full-strength, and on paper they look the solid option, with Aguero and Silva fit to play. Yes, Tony Pullis tends to get play a tight style, with his teams strong at the back. Manchester City are around the 7/10 mark, which is a fair price, given that they have won 4 out of their last 5 visits to the Hawthornes. So the value is there to back a Manchester City win. It’s also tempting to back over 2.5 goals, but West Brom might just tighten up at the back and try and catch City on the counter, so tread carefully. Plus, Manchester City have a tendency not to play 100% in matches like this, so a 1-0 or 2-0 isn’t outwith the realms of possibility.

MLB Betting Tips:

There’s one team that’s screaming value at the moment in tonight’s baseball action, and that’s the Phillies. Yes, it’s the Phillies, and they could just as likely put a stinker in, but they’re been playing incredible ball since the All-Star break, going 16-5, and the fact they’re playing a side that they have dominance over, the fact they’re odds-against is fantastic value. The Phillies have won 7 out of the last 8 against the Diamondbacks. Yes, Arizona are fielding the solid Rubby De La Rosa, but the fact is that we’re have to ride one of the hottest baseball sides in the country, in what is great value bet for tonight, so back Phillies to win in our only MLB bet of the night.
