The National League Central division is suddenly one of the more interesting races out there. This division always looked like it would go to the Cubs and for the first part of the year, the Brewers owned it. Then the All-Star Break happened and the Cubs got hot, the Brewers got cold and everything fell in to place. Everyone assumed that the Cubs would continue to roll and become the team that everyone thought they would.

However, the race is suddenly a lot closer than it looked to be. The Brewers have won four straight, the Cardinals are hot and the Cubs have cooled. The Brewers are still 1.5 games back with the Cardinals 2.5 back, but that is striking distance and the Cubs might not have this as wrapped up as we once thought.

All are still behind the Rockies and Diamondbacks in the Wild Card race with the Brewers at 4.5 games back so it looks like the NL Central may be the only road to the playoffs. Then again, we still have a month and a half left in the season and anything can happen.

CFL Betting Tips:

The undefeated Edmonton Eskimos head to Winnipeg to take on the Blue Bombers tonight. Edmonton is yet to lose a game this season and I am finding it hard to find a reason that they are going to lose this game. They haven’t really blown anyone out, but they have got it done in every game. The Bombers have just two losses on the year and both of those are against top-tier teams which is exactly how I’d describe Edmonton. Don’t overthink this one, Eskimos -110.

MLB Betting Tips:

The Pirates have teased us for awhile of getting into that NL Central race, but after four straight losses to send them four games under .500 I think it is safe to say that they are now out of it. They take on the Cardinals at home tonight and this game is big for St. Louis, one of the hottest offenses out there. While I don’t fully trust Adam Wainwright yet, he has built himself up over his last two starts. I like Jameson Taillon, but he is vulnerable as he gave up eight runs just two starts ago. This one is all about the Cards offense who I expect to stay hot here. Cardinals +130

New York plays each other again tonight with the Mets hosting the Yankees and it has the weirdest total I’ve seen in awhile. Set at just seven runs with Luis Severino going against Steven Matz. Neither one of these guys is known for going deep in games, Matz has an ERA over 5 and Severino was killed in his last start. What gives? All over this over 7 runs.

The Nationals are one of the best teams in all of baseball and the Padres are one of the worst. Bryce Harper isn’t playing, but that’s okay because this is still a dangerous offense. I just don’t see a point in taking the Padres here and the Nationals line is more than fair. Nationals -105
