A 1-2 record last night.

The offense just wasn’t what we were expecting last night. The Red Sox/Rays game, we took the over of 8.5, but they only managed a combined seven runs. While the Indians/Orioles we had the over of 9 runs, but neither team looked particularly interested in scoring. The hits just weren’t there for us and those two went under the posted total.

Thankfully, we had Jacob deGrom and the Mets yesterday. He did exactly what I thought he would do and shut down the Phillies. So, that was a win.

Sundays are all about day games so I got these up as early as possible. Hope everyone had a good weekend and I’ll see you Monday.

Colorado Rockies vs. Atlanta Braves Betting Tips:

I’ve been watching this series from afar, but today feels like the right time to strike. I like the match-up of Anibal Sanchez against this Rockies offense that is terrible against righties. They have just a 79 wRC+ on the year and are in the midst of one of their worst slumps of the season with just a 76 wRC+ over the past thirty days. Sanchez is not one of my favorite pitchers out there, but he has a solid 3.07 ERA/3.78 FIP on the season. He can get through this Rockies offense a couple of times, no problem.

The Braves draw German Marquez who is having a nice season. He has, however, had some rough starts with a lot of hits given up. He only faced the Braves once this season, way back in April, and allowed seven runs in that one. He has blowup potential and that’s what we’re looking for here. This Braves offense is dangerous and I hope they show it today.

Arizona Diamondbacks vs. San Diego Padres Betting Tips:

I am absolutely in love with this match-up for the Diamondbacks. Zack Greinke is on the mound in a pitcher friendly ballpark with a weak offense on the other side, yes please. He has a 3.00 ERA/3.64 FIP and faces an offense with just a 78 wRC+ against righties on the year.

Brett Kennedy has made two starts on the year and allowed five and six runs in those two with four homers allowed total. The Diamondbacks offense is one of my favorite out there and I have no issues laying the runs here.

Bet Arizona -1.5 Runs

New York Mets vs. Philadelphia Phillies Betting Tips:

The Phillies have to be feeling good about this match-up. After drawing Noah Syndergaard and Jacob deGrom on consecutive. Today they draw Jason Vargas who has a 8.10 ERA/6.14 FIP/5.16 xFIP on the year with a lot of struggles in his road starts. The Phillies aren’t the best against lefties, but they don’t really have to be against Vargas. He’ll give up runs regardless.

The other thing I really like in this match-up is the Phillies’ starter, Nick Pivetta. He has a 4.37 ERA/3.50 FIP on the year with some big time strikeout numbers. He’s been a far better pitcher in his home starts and I expect him to grab the win for the Phils here. Lay the runs.

Bet Phillies -1.5
