Ronda Rousey is amazing. In fighting sports, we’ve never really seen dominance like this. Sure, we’ve seen win after win from people or teams, but never quite like this. Never quite so fast. Last night Rousey finished her opponent Bethe Correia in just 34 seconds. Her last four fights have lasted a grand total of 130 seconds. She is amazing and it will be interesting to see if UFC can find someone, anyone who can give her a real challenge. Or at least make it to the second round.

With the excitement of UFC 190 over it’s on to Sunday baseball. We have a full slate today including Jose Fernandez pitching for the Marlins which is always exciting and a big National League East match-up between the Nationals and Mets. It should be a good day of baseball and we have a full slate of tips for you.

MLB Betting Tips:

The Mariners take on the Twins today in the rubber match of their series and the player to watch is Hisashi Iwakuma. He had a rough time out last time, but his previous three starts were really excellent. I like him today in a fantasy perspective as well as betting. His strikeouts and batting average against are much better against right handers and the Twins are extremely righty heavy. It’s a great match-up for him. He goes against Mike Pelfrey who is being hit hard by opposing hitters from both sides of the plate. With players like Nelson Cruz and Robinson Cano, the Mariners can score runs when the match-up is right. I like the Mariners -122 in this one.

With an over/under currently set at 10, it might seem hard to pick a winner of today’s Rangers/Giants game. With that many runs potentially being scored it could be anybody’s game. However, the Giants are sending newly acquired Mike Leake to the mound and there is just something about players debuting for their new team that makes them play better. He’s not the most exciting pitcher in the world, but he is very consistent and keeps control of the game. He’s allowed three runs or less in his last eight starts and if he can do something close to that today he should grab the win. Bet Giants -112.

The Mets currently sit one game out of first place heading into tonight’s game against the first place Nationals. It is the rare Sunday night game that is the most important on the slate. The Mets send Noah Syndergaard to the mound against Jordan Zimmerman. This one projects to be low scoring with a total of just 6.5 runs. Syndergaard has been awesome thus far this season and over his last six starts he has allowed just a 1.29 ERA and 0.81 WHIP. He’s good. Zimmerman has pitched well this season, but has allowed 3+ runs in three of his past four starts. If he does that tonight it won’t be enough to win. The Mets will benefit from the addition of Cespedes and the performance of Syndergaard to make things interesting the NL East. Mets -121.
