Before I get into the Champions League bets for Saturday, I need to tell you the best betting story.
Aberdeen are scheduled to play St. Johnstone in the Scottish Premier League. This week it came out that the city of Aberdeen had a bit of an outbreak at bars. One of their players tested positive.
It then came out later in the afternoon that 2 players tested positive and 8 were self isolating. I immediately thought “screw it” and bet money on St. Johnstone to beat them.
I checked this morning at around 5am EST and I could see that I could cash out for 40% profit. That was extremely tempting and I went back and forth on it.
Finally decided to cash out at 6:15am EST.
6:30am EST? They postponed the game!!!
Now there’s the slight possibility that they end up voiding it but not sure they can do it after the fact or not. Anyway just freaking awesome free money. That was at Bet365 who I always recommend due to of course their cashout options.
Anyway I feel like a freaking boss after that one.
Let’s get on with the Champions League games for August 8th:
Barcelona vs Napoli Betting Tips:
These two met back in February in the first leg (just typing that is so absurd) and they drew 1-1. Barcelona had to come from behind and while they dominated possession Napoli had more shots on target.
Both teams had solid enough domestic performances to end the season. Barcelona are 1.65 favourites to win in 90 minutes and 1.36 favourites to qualify.
This is at the Nou camp and if Barcelona lost it would be their first time in 36 games losing here in the Champions League.
I’ve said it before but I love Gattuso the person however I still don’t really rate him as a manager.
The odds aren’t great but I am going to do a small bet on Barca to win. Honestly I could also cite a bunch of reasons that Napoli win and I have high hopes this will be a good game.
Just a gut feeling Barca take it. If they don’t I may have to reassess my opinion on Gattuso.

Bayern Munich vs Chelsea Betting Tips:
Chelsea were absolutely battered by Munich 3-0 in the first leg. I tipped that one doing 2u on Munich to win.
Of course there is one difference going into this one. Bayern last played competitive football on June 27th while Chelsea have just wrapped up their season.
Chelsea won’t be happy or confident of course after losing the FA Cup. However I do think they will be looking to end the season on a high note. The fitness issue for me makes it worth a miniscule bet. Munich are quality and might batter them however I’m willing to give Chelsea a wee bit of faith here. In my head I am picturing something like 4-2 to Munich or some nonsense in case you want to bet the goals market instead. However I’ll stick with this one.
