This week on the European Tour, it’s the BMW Masters.

The BMW Masters takes place in Shanghai, China and has been part of the European Tour since 2011. The first winner of the BMW Masters was Rory McIlroy – who is taking a well needed rest this week and won’t be playing.

Since then, winners have been Peter Hanson, Gonzalo Fernandez-Castario and Marcel Siem.

This is always a very tight tournament. Historically, 2 of the tournaments have ended in a playoff. The one that Rory McIlroy won back in 2011 went to a playoff with Alexander Kim, and last years went to a playoff with Marcel Siem, Ross Fisher and Alexander Levy.

The two years in between have been settled by just 1 stroke.

We’re in for an exciting tournament most likely. Let’s get to the tips:

BMW Masters Betting Tip #1: Danny Willett

Joint 5th favourite is Danny Willett.

Willett comes into this on some solid form in the European Tour. Within the last 3 months he has had two 3rd places – one at the WGC – HSBC Champions and one at the Italian Open.

When you look at his recent stats other than that you see that if he could be a bit more consistent on the course it would be huge. Unfortunately a bad round seems to cost him most times.

We’re going to be placing a half unit on Willett. He’s never really did much at this course with a 30th, 27th and 21st but hey he’s gradually getting better. Maybe this is the year? We can always hope!

Bet: Danny Willett to win and E/W. Half unit 20/1 at .

OHL Classic Betting Tip #2: Justin Rose

We’ll be placing a quarter unit on the favourite Justin Rose to win.

Rose ticks all the boxes and even at those odds it’s a slightly +EV price. Would have been nice if Rory was playing here to help the odds expand but alas that’s not the case.

We usually stay away from odds like these but Rose is someone that stands out time and time again and we would be kicking ourselves if we didn’t throw SOMETHING on him here.

Rose has had some excellent finishes lately. He won the UBS Hong Kong Championship and was in the top 5 in the US PGA Championship and WGC Bridgestone.

Bet: Quarter unit on Justin Rose to win. Place that bet at .

BMW Betting Tip #3: Matthew Fitzpatrick

Our last bet is on Matthew Fitzpatrick. GIR can be a big factor on this course and that’s what we’re going to go with here. He’s coming into this on some darn fine form, and although he has never played on this course before we feel his stats line up well. Very, very well to be honest. To win and E/W, half a unit.

Bet: 25/1 is the price you can get at .
