What a finish to last night’s Chicago and San Diego game last night as the Bears came from behind to grab the win. The Bears are probably going nowhere this season, but it’s games like that one that keep the fans coming back despite the hopeless season. It just goes to show that anything can happen on any given Sunday (or Monday or Thursday) in the NFL.

The NFL takes a break and we focus on week three of the NBA season. We have a good match-up tonight with the Wizards taking on the Thunder. Russell Westbrook versus John Wall is some serious must see TV. Both of these teams have been up and down early in the season and would like to grab a win tonight. There is also an under the radar potentially awesome game as the Jazz meet the Cavs. The Jazz have lived up to their preseason hype thus far with a stifling defense and the Cavs are the Cavs (aka Lebron’s team). This should be a really fun match-up of youth vs. age and offense vs. defense.

We also have college football on the slate to fill your hunger for more football as well as a full slate of NHL games including a big Ottawa and Nashville game. It should be a good night of action.

College Football Betting Tips:

Last Tuesday, Toledo suffered their first loss of the season in a close one against Northern Illinois. They look to get back on track in a road game against Central Michigan tonight. Toledo is a far better football team by the numbers as they average more points per game and give up less points per game. Central Michigan, however, did beat that same Northern Illinois team earlier this season at home 29-19. While Central Michigan is probably a better team than their 5-4 record would indicate, Toledo is probably still better. They’ve beaten Central Michigan handily in each of the past two seasons and Toledo -4 should continue that trend tonight.

NHL Betting Tips:

I love the way that the Blues have been playing this season. Their penalty killing has been strong and they are keeping the shots down for Jake Allen. That should continue tonight against the Devils in New Jersey. They score more and allow less than the Devils and have the goaltending advantage. Blues -140 is the play here.

NBA Betting Tips:

While the John Wall and Russell Westbrook match-up will lead all of the highlights of this game, it’s the status of Bradley Beal that will help decide. He is likely out for this one which leaves the Wizards short on the talent side (when they were already pretty short compared to the Thunder). It’s tough to lay all these points on the road, but you have to remember what the Thunder offense is capable. On any given night they can score huge amounts of points and tonight feels like it could be one of those nights against the older, slower Wizards front court. Thunder -4.5 is the play.

Tonight’s match-up against the Cavs will probably give us a good idea of if the Jazz are for real. Their defense has been amazing, but they have also had a somewhat soft early schedule. I love their young core, but the hole at point guard is a big one. They might not be a playoff team, but their defense is definitely for real and will give a lot of teams fits. The Cavs will be one of those as I think they’ll be surprised on just how real that defensive intensity is and this one should go under 185. I still like the Cavs to win, but I think this one will be closer and more low scoring than people expect.
