The prestigious British Grand Prix takes place this weekend in the Formula 1 season, and it should be a good one.

We go into this one with some intriguing standings in the points. The German Sebastian Vettel is at 171 points with Hamilton trailing at 151. Bottas however is in 3rd place at 136, with Ricciardo the only other player in triple digits at 107.

There’s going to be a lot of pressure on Lewis Hamilton to pick up his 5th win at Silverstone – which would tie him as a driver with Jim Clark and Alain Prost.

Hamilton has won it the last three years but he’ll have to hope for better support from Mercedes this time around – who have really let him down the past couple of races. The issues such as the gearbox penalty and the loose headrest have been brutal. It really sucks too from a betting perspective when things like this pop up. At least Hamiltons still geting paid his millions – we’re losing bets due to crap like this!

British Grand Prix Winner: Lewis Hamilton

Last year he got the Grand Slam and as we’ve seen over the years he always steps it up. The pressure is on at the British Grand Prix for him but he always feels that pressure and over the last few years he’s really dealt with it.

After all the issues Mercedes have came out and said they’ve got to sort things out and we’re going to trust them on that and hopefully win our money back after last time out.

We’re taking Lewis Hamilton to win.

Points Finish: Nico Hulkenburg

Barrcelona is a similar type of circuit to this and Hulkenburg was able to get the 6th place finish there.

It’s not been a great year for Nico getting in the points but he’s generally been racing well depending on the circuit. Nico is usually Top 10 of qualifying here and has been in the points the last few years so we know he can handle this circuit.

We’re going to back him to get a points finish here to continue his run.

Long Shot Bet

our regular long shot bet and this one is Perez for a podium finish at 8/1.

It’s arguable but we feel he has the fourth fastest car and when the tyre wear is high, Force India like to try different things.

He was able to get a 6th place finish last year and a 9th place finish the year before.

I just think he has what it takes here and that the price is well worth it.
