What a week last week was in the golf.

We had no winners but that didn’t matter from an entertainment point of view, as we got to watch Tiger Woods come extremely close to taking down the PGA Championship.

In 2018 what an accomplishment that would have been for Tiger – to pick up another Major. It’s amazing as I honestly didn’t think he had it in him and although he didn’t do it – boy did he come close.

His performances have been incredible lately with 2nd at the Valspar, 5th at the Arnold Palmer, 4th at the Quicken Loans, 6th at the Open and now 2nd and you just have to hope it’s only a matter of time.

Love him or hate him Tiger makes golf interesting. Usually I head down to the local sports bar for the final round and I have to ask them to turn a TV on to show it sometimes. This weekend every TV was showing it I think, with everyone packing the place and watching Tiger.

Makes it so much more fun.

This week I am only covering the Wyndham Championship and much like last week, I’m really not seeing too much this week.

Just feels like that time of year where things are winding down and the picks just aren’t there.

I’m taking Webb Simpson to win. He has had some great performances at this course and he comes in on form. He’s already picked up the Players Championship this year with a similar run of form and I could see him taking this one this week.

He’s the favourite and it’s a weak field but 12/1 odds seems like a good price all things considered.

I’m also doing Ryan Moore To Win/Top 5 where I split a betting unit over both those bets. He’s 33/1 and while he hasn’t been in the top 5 since the Arnold Palmer, this is a course he really does well at. The price is a bit low but just enough for me to place a small bet.

CFL Week 10 Betting Tips:

I’m going with Blue Bombers -3.5 against the Redblacks. Ottawa have been struggling lately and they barely won last week which was bad to see for them. The Winnipeg boys have been beating up on the East and I’ll back it to continue.

I’m also going with Argonauts +1.5 over the Lions. I like the Argos now they have turned their streak around to pick up a W here over an erratic Lions side.

Gotta go with Alouettes +16.5 over the Eskimos. I think Montreal played better last week and they should be able to keep it a bit closer against Edmonton. I’d be surprised if it goes over 2 touchdowns.

Finally gotta go with Stampders -7. I see no reason to second guess Calgary at this time.
