After a few weeks of solid Thursday Night NFL match-ups we have tonight’s match-up which is… not solid as the Tampa Bay Buccaneers take on the St. Louis Rams. While neither of these teams is playoff bound this could be a fun one to watch with two of the top rookies in the game playing for each team.

For Tampa, it’s the number one overall draft pick Jameis Winston. Winston has been up and down this season, but he’s looked like he’ll be able to make it in the NFL. He’s thrown 18 touchdowns to 11 interceptions with a season QB rating of 85.4. More impressive is his four games with QB ratings over 114 which shows that he should figure out how to play in this league.

Todd Gurley has been the bright spot for the Rams this season with some of the best rookie rushing we’ve seen in a long time. He should go over a thousand yards for the season tonight and he’s had five games of 125+ rushing yards. He’s a beast when he gets going and he’s a big part of the Rams future.

NFL Betting Tips:

Tonight’s game should be all about defense (or lack of scoring) as both teams have low points per game averages. The Rams are especially low at 16.2 points per game, although they play slightly better at home with 18.3 per game. The total on this one is set at just a mere 41 points and they should struggle to reach that level. For this one, I have to go with the Bucs +2.5. Before winning last week St. Louis had lost five straight and hasn’t really been in any game. The Bucs have played much tougher and hung in their with all of their opponents. If Winston can avoid turning the ball over too much, the Bucs should be an easy favorite to win this one outright.

NBA Betting Tips:

The big game of the night is the Oklahoma City Thunder heading to Cleveland to take on Lebron James and the Cavaliers. This is a match-up of two former MVPs and two of the best players in the league in Kevin Durant and Lebron James. It’s on national TV in the US so you know that both teams will be bringing their A-game. These two teams are pretty evenly matched although Oklahoma City does play at a faster pace. OKC is currently on a six game winning streak and I have to go with them again tonight. The Thunder +3.5 have just been playing really well lately and I could see this game coming down to a final basket. Russell Westbrook should be a big problem for Cleveland tonight as they have no one capable of matching up with him without Kyrie Irving in the lineup.

In the late game, the Lakers play host to the Houston Rockets. While I expect the Rockets to pull this one out, I am more interested in the over for this one. Both of these teams tend to show no real interest in playing defense and tonight should be one where both are able to score at will. This one should easily go over 213 points.
