We’re still sat shaking our heads in disbelief around the office. The Jets almost won, West Ham are STILL in the running for a Champions League spot, Jordan Speith carded a -26 to comfortably win the Hero World Challenge with just 3 blips on his scorecard for the entire four rounds and Ronnie O’Sullivan almost blew a 9-4 lead in snookers UK Championship, before winning 10-9. It was a wild weekend of sport, that’s for sure.

Yesterday was a tough day, with so many close games that just failed to go our way, especially in the NFL. We started off brightly, but then the Giants decided to up their game, and New England did what they do best and bounced back from a bad defeat last week. It was a tight night for us in the NBA yesterday. What should have been a 2-1 became a 1-2 night with Portland just failing to cover against the Knicks. Frustrating, but these things happen.

However, it was a great start to December last week, and we’re going to continue upwards as we start a new week. We have the usual Monday Night Football pick, both in the NFL and also the English Premiership. And, as always, our NHL tipster is hoping to continue his hot streak.

So, it’s December 8th, let’s get onto the free sports betting tips for today.

NFL Betting Tip for December 8th

Falcons vs Packers

If there’s one place any team would not want to visit right now, it’s Lambeau Field. Not only are the conditions going to be a shock for many, but there is the small matter of Green Bay’s undefeated run at home. And the fact they can run up points seemingly against anyone here. Oh, and Aaron Rodgers is playing like a good when is Wisconsin.

So, what chance to the Falcons have? Well, Rodgers might not turn up. That’s about the only chance they have, really. The Packers are looking invincible at home, and the -13 line would suggest the bookies think along the same lines. But a two touchdown game is not out of the question here. In fact, this could be a blow out by a team brimming with confidence. Packers -13 might look big, but the whole team here are really impressed with Green Bay and completely underwhelmed by the Falcons.

English Premier League Tip for December 8th

Southampton vs Manchester United

This is huge for both teams tonight. While Manchester United are looking to continue their hot run, Southampton need a win to get things back on track. A draw here is no good for either side, so look for them to come out firing.

Southampton’s real class was found out against Manchester City. While they’re not abysmal, it’s safe to say they’ve been punching above their weight so far this season. On the other hand, Van Gaal seems to have United firing a bit better now, and they’re finding their level. But what’s evident is that both teams have class up front, while Manchester United are still quite frail at the back. And Southampton were also exposed by some scintilating Manchester City attacks.

We like goals here, so over 2.5 goals in Southampton vs Manchester United match is our strongly fancied play. Over 3.5 might be on, too, but we’ll take the safer option.

NHL Betting Tips for December 8th, 2014:

Two tips for us tonight for the NHL.

Devils vs Hurricanes.

This might not be pretty, but both teams need to win here to stop a bad run. The thing is, the Devils aren’t particularly awful, it’s just their scoring that’s letting them down. As for the Hurricanes… well, yeah, they’ve been awful. We like New Jersey to stop the skid and get back to winning ways against a Hurricanes team low on confidence and also goals. Plus, the Devils don’t mind coming to Caroline, with three wins in their last three visits. It’s value seeing them the slight underdogs here – great value in our eyes. New Jersey Devils to win is what we strongly recommend.

Panthers vs Blues

Big game in St Louis tonight, and we think that we’re shaping up for goals. While statistically both sides have strong defensive stats, recent matches have not been staying true to form. Add in some solid offense and we think the 5 goal line is going to be beaten tonight. Over 5 goals is our play here.
