The first game in Group C takes place early on June 16th with France vs Australia. The other two teams in that group, Peru vs Denmark, face off a little bit later in the day.

Denmark are the 2nd favourites in Group C behind France, with Peru 3rd favourites. The sportsbooks have Denmark at 1.72 to qualify and Peru at 2.62 meaning while Peru are slight underdogs they think they could upset.

Denmark needed the knockout round to qualify and they did it in style with a 5-1 victory in Ireland after going behind 1-0. In the group stages they came 2nd to Poland with a 6-2-2 record, 20 goals scored and just 8 conceded. They actually thumped Poland at one point 4-0 too which was impressive.

Peru are in here as the OFC vs CONMEBOL play off winners where they beat the mighty New Zealand. They finished the CONMEBOL with a 7-5-6 recordand barely beat Chile on goal difference to make it through and that was after they got awarded a game against Bolivia that they had lost. Not the best track record.

Denmark Analysis:

Denmark have been a lot more impressive since Hareide stepped in and it’s been interesting watching their players evolve. Christian Eriksen is tremendous and they also have a solid defense. They’ve got tricky players too like Pinoe Sisto and are a team who could do something here.

Hareide has them playing a more direct game which is also nice. I’m curious if Kvist will play or not as he is really an integral player and I don’t think they have anyone that can step into his role. But then he has been getting a lot of criticism in recent years so it may not be that much of a loss if they don’t play the holding midfielder despite that tremendous performance in Dublin.

They’ve also got a lot of physical players and they tick a lot of boxes for me. On paper I think they look excellent.

Peru Analysis:

Peru are going into this one happy with Paolo Guerrerro playing. That will motivate them for sure.

However I was not impressed with them in qualification at all. Gareca did a decent job at getting them here but it relied on a lot of luck and the Guerrero issue overshadowed everything.

I don’t know I’m just not sold on Peru. It’s possible I’m just underrestimating them but I’m not on the Tigre love chain that everyone else seems to be.

Denmark vs Peru Betting Tips:

It’s the World Cup and anything can happen, but I just think on paper Denmark are the much better team. I’ve looked and looked at Peru and nothing is really selling me on them. I am a bit wary about the odds however and while I love the value on Denmark, I’m going to reel myself in with 3 units on Denmark to win. Bet that at https://www.Bovada.lv.
