Four NBA tips for February 10th, 2022.

Today is the trade deadline so we could see some big moves over the next few hours. Maybe just wait a little bit before placing your bets because you never know when a surprise star could get scratched.

Miami Heat at New Orleans Pelicans Betting Tips:
The Miami Heat are looking like they could be a scary team when they get to full strength and tonight they should be pretty close to it. Jimmy Butler, Kyle Lowry, and Bam Adebayo are all in the starting line-up tonight. This team has played 55 games this year, but has only had Butler and Lowry together for 24 of them. They are 15-9 in those games. Lowry and Adebayo have only played in twenty games together and they are 13-7 in those games.
The Pelicans made a big trade for C.J. McCollum a few days ago and he could make his debut here tonight. If he does play, I think the team will take some time to adjust and figure out how they fit together. If he doesn’t, the Pelicans are really undermanned.
Miami is the better team all around here and when you throw in the adjustment of the trade, I don’t think the Pelicans can hang.

Brooklyn Nets at Washington Wizards Betting Tips:
The Wizards made multiple trades today and their team isn’t worth backing here.
I hate making this pick because neither of these teams looks to be very good, but the Nets are just down so bad right now that I can’t imagine backing them here. They’ve lost nine straight games, have a ton of injuries, and there is a ton of drama surrounding the team. James Harden and LaMarcus Aldridge will not play tonight while Nicholas Claxton is listed as questionable. Kyrie Irving and Patty Mills are just not going to be able to carry this team.
The Wizards are without Bradley Beal who is getting season ending surgery, but other than that they seem to be at full strength. Against most teams that might not be enough. Against this version of the Nets it should be.

Los Angeles Clippers at Dallas Mavericks Betting Tips:
These are two of the top-8 defenses in the NBA and I think the line is just a little bit too high.
The Clippers got a boost from adding Norman Powell in a trade and that will likely be the last of their moves. This team is gritty with a great defense, but they really needed a player like him that can put the ball in the basket. I think he should help them.
Dallas will once again be without Porzingis and Hardaway, and this is a team I could absolutely see making a trade today. There isn’t much depth here so if that does happen it could have adverse effects tonight.
Even if that doesn’t happen I can see this one being close. These two teams played earlier this season and the game was only decided by six points. This is a much different look for both teams, but I can see a similar final score playing out.

Milwaukee Bucks at Phoenix Suns Betting Tips:
This will be the first time these two teams face-off since the NBA Finals when the Milwaukee Bucks became the NBA champions. The way things are playing out thus far this season we could very well see a rematch of that series in this year’s Finals.
The Suns have had the much better regular season to date, but the Bucks are playing some of their best basketball of the season right now with four straight wins and three straight games with 131+ points scored.
With the way they’ve been playing of late and the number of injuries on the Phoenix bench, I think the Bucks are getting too many points here. They can win this game.
