Three NBA tips for February 4th, 2022.
A tough night last night brings our season record to 60-38.
It was a night of close calls as the Bulls (+4.5) lost by seven in overtime, the Lakers were +11 in the fourth quarter in a 111-110 loss to the Clippers (-4), and the Warriors (-13.5) won by 12. All three of those losses could’ve easily gone the other way.
I couldn’t end the week on a down note like that so here’s a few tips for tonight’s games.
Boston Celtics at Detroit Pistons Betting Tips:
There might not be a team in the league I trust less than the Boston Celtics, but they look good in this match-up.
The Pistons are playing their third game in four nights and the second half of a back-to-back. They are likely to be without Cade Cunningham once again which doesn’t leave much to get excited about in the backcourt or on the offensive end.
Boston has played much better of late with wins in five of their last six games. Even more impressive, all the wins have come by at least six points and four of the wins have come by 10+.

Brooklyn Nets at Utah Jazz Betting Tips:
A match-up of two teams that are absolutely in the mud right now. The Nets have dropped six straight and the Jazz have lost five of their past six games.
The good news for Utah is that they will have Donovan Mitchell back for tonight’s match-up. He hasn’t played a game since January 17th. The bad news is that their injury list is still long with Gobert and Ingles out, and Whiteside and Clarkson listed as questionable.
These are two offenses that can absolutely cook when they are full strength, but for this game they are anything but. It seems like the total on this one is set more off of reputation than output. Eleven of the last twelve Jazz games would’ve gone under this total. While three of the last five Nets games would’ve.

Philadelphia 76ers at Dallas Mavericks Betting Tips:
The Sixers have a long injury list for this one, but it doesn’t include Joel Embiid so I’m not sure why the Sixers aren’t favored here. They’ve won five of their past six and without Porzingis there is little the Mavericks should be able to do to stop him here.
Dallas has also lost two straight to the Thunder and Magic. Losing to two of the worst teams in the league is not a good look and Doncic was on the floor for both games so they don’t even really have a good excuse. Playing one of the better teams in the league won’t be easy.
