Welcome to the free sports betting tips for Monday, January 9th, 2017.

We had a lot of action in the NFL Wildcard round over the weekend, and we also saw some action in the FA Cup over the weekend, too. The FA Cup Third Round sees all the big guns enter, and gone are the days of the big teams being knocked out much of a shock, as they are all fielding under strength sides. Yes, Liverpool’s draw with Plymouth would once be considered a shock, but their team was about as old as some of the pants I own, so there was little shocking about it. In the NFL, there were no shocks in the Wild Card round, as the Dolphins, Lions and Raiders’ amazing seasons came to a close at the hands of the Steelers, Seahawks and Texans, while the Packers took care of the Giants, who would have been expecting a kinder run in the playoffs. So, with the wild cards decided, we get down to the serious business of finding ourselves a Super Bowl winner starting this weekend. Who will take it? I think it’s wide open, so I’d hate to have a punt at this early stage.

Now, let’s get onto the free sports betting tips for January 9th, 2017.

Flames vs Jets Betting Tip

The Flames are on a bit of a hot streak right now, with wins in three out of their last four matches. In fact, they have a 60% win record in their last ten games, which is damn good going for a Flames side that were struggling for consistency.

In contrast to that, the Jets are not having a good time of it at all. To add to their misery, Laine is out with a concussion after taking a bad hit in their last game. Normally missing one player wouldn’t be all that bad, but when you’re the Jets and Laine is your top scorer at the moment, it doesn’t look pretty. The Jets are really going to struggle tonight without him and I can see pain for the Jets and their fans tonight.

The last meeting between the two teams came in mid December and the Flames won comfortably 6-2. While it might not be as comfortable tonight, it’s hard to see where the Jets are going to get their goals from, while the Flames are getting goals from all through the side.

In our only play of the night, we’re going to take Flames in regulation, because I just think the Jets are in dire straits and the Flames are going to capitalise on it in a big way tonight.
