Well The Open Championship was fun enough – just would have been nice to see some real crappy weather. Always fun watching the battle in that. Due to time constraints I haven’t covered golf in the last few weeks – but things are better now, and I’ll be here weekly with my free golf betting tips.

This week in golf, I’m going to cover the 3M Open and Cazoo Open. There are plenty of other tournaments I would like to cover, but as I haven’t really been betting golf for the past month or so or at least not on a serious level, I’m going to ease my way back into it. I’ll look to cover the rest of the tours in the coming weeks as that’s where I really feel there is value.

Betting Note: Betting amounts are based on confidence level. My normal betting amounts for the PGA are $125, $250 & $500, although I will go as low as $62.50 and as high as $1,000 on occasion. My most common bet is $125 and if you classify that as 1 unit, then I have made a 667.93 unit profit from 2014-2020. (full stats)

E/W (Each-Way) bets means you split that amount. So if it is a $250 E/W bet, that means $125 on them to win, $125 on them to place (Usually in the Top 5)

3M Open Betting Tips:

Part of the Champions Tour since the early 90s, the 3M open has been on the PGA Tour for a couple of years now. Winners in the past are Matthew Wolff and Michael Thompson. It takes place at TPC Twin Cities, a Palmer designed course.

$125 on Emiliano Grillo at 33/1 – To Win & E/W

Grillo has struggled lately, but bounced back strong with a confidence boosting 12th place at the Open. On this course, Greens In Regulation is a big factor and that’s where he excels. He’s also one of the best Par 4 performers on the tour at the moment which will come in well on this potential birdie fest. He had a third place here last year and I’ve got to think comes in feeling confident, good about his game and should be battling at the top here.

$75 on Doug Ghim at 2/1 – Top 20 Finish

Doug just pops out on all the metrics for me. It’s been a long time since he has had a top 10 finish otherwise I would probably bet that. He’s coming in on solid form having made his last three cuts, and last year played well here finishing 18th. I think he should be able to perform solid here and get a top 20 finish for us. Again on that par 4 performance he is generally a top 10 player, along with GIR. He should be able to flirt with the top 10.

$62.50 on Cameron Tringale at 16/5 – Top 10 Finish

A tad risky and you may want to lower it to Top 20 at 6/4 odds. He’s coming in with some solid form though, and also racked up a 3rd place here last year. Overall just seems a solid value play in a tournament where I am not sure the favourites will be as good as expected.

Cazoo Open Betting Tips:

$30 on Niall Kearney To Win & E/W – 100/1

At that price you might want to bet on something less speculative, but I feel like taking a shot here. Kearney just based on everything I look at should fit in well at this course. He had a great start to the BMW International Open a couple of weeks back. Could be one too where he may start strong and then drift. But I liked his performance there and made a note of him and despite a missed cut since then – think he might surprise.

$30 on Connor Syme To Win & E/W – 33/1

This is barely a passasble pick. Syme comes in on decent form and I think by the metrics, generally suits this course. Nothing mindblowing but his past form here just made him a pick for me. Two excellent performances with a 3rd place and an 8th place. Hopefully knowing that, he comes in feeling confident knowing he can handle this course well.
