Big props to Lowry last week in the Open Championship. Just fantastic by him and well deserved. Did make Sunday a tad boring but oh well.

Only the one bet panned out to make it a slightly losing week. That was Tyrrell Hatton who finished in the top 8 however in a Dead Heat of 4 which reduces the payout slightly. Not a huge amount and it still would have been a losing week regardless. Just glad he got that place.

Lowry is one of those too that when I look at it in retrospect I still can’t pick him. Says a lot about his impressive performance there.

Here’s the betting slip for Hatton:

This week we have the WGC Fedex St Jude Invitational. An intriguing tournament.

Before I get into that I’ve got a 1/2u play on Sei Young Kim to win & Top 5 in the LPGA. She is playing well at the moment and usually performs very well here.

As for the WGC event I’ve tried to talk myself out of it but have to bet 1/4u on Rory to win. I hate betting it as he is generally on my no bet list however after last weeks showing, he’s going to come out here with a purpose.

He clicks on the metrics, and if you look at historical data he bounces back very strong after a cut. I really do hate betting Rory but can’t help it here. Have to back him.

My only other bet that I really like is 1/4u on Chez Reavie at 55/1 to win and top 5. Excellent price for Reavie at 55/1 based on the last two missed cuts. His performances in both those tournaments wasn’t bad however and I liked what he was doing prior to that. Worth a play.

I’ve then got 1/8u plays on the following: Tommy Fleetwood, Hideki Matsuyama, Billy Horschel. All are marginal plays but worth the bet.

Tommy Boy is just playing excellent and could work well on this course. Matsuyama is someone who I rarely bet as he has let me down in key spots like this in the past. When you look at it, he should freaking dominate this course but I’ve said that before then he has been miserable. Finally Horschel at 60/1 is worth a bet due to how he usually plays on this course.

That’s it for the golf. I was hoping to tackle the WNBA today but unfortunately both games are early games and then we have the All Star break. I won’t be backing that however the WNBA returns on July 30th. I may want a couple of days post All Star break before going with tips on that but we will see.
