That’s more like it! A bit unfortunate not to go 3-0 last night, but a 2-1 night is more than good enough to get us right back on track. Just a shame Steve Beaton couldn’t have taken out a bit more than a 121. Still, not just an enjoyable night, but a profitable night. After last night, we’re standing at 17-16 for the tournament and we have a profit of –

Now we’re into the quarterfinals of the Grand Slam of Darts, even longer matches and we’ve got, who I feel, are the players who deserve to be here. Not many group winners, but an exceptionally classy line-up.

The quarterfinals are split over two sessions, so the evening session tips will come later today.

I want to mention the bookmakers that will give you some free money for depositing there. Is there anything better than free money? Well, more free money. So, use my tips along with these free sign-up offers and we’ll keep the great run going!

First off, Betfair. If you’ve not got an account with Betfair, why not? More often than not, they have the best prices and, thanks to the ability to back or lay a selection, you can bet in-play with ease and also lay your bet back should you think the tide is about to turn for your player. It’s where serious bettors bet and if you’re serious about darts betting, you NEED an account here. Plus you get a free bet up to £25, which is always nice.

I want to introduce our friends at Paddy Power They’re big supporters of darts and they’ll give you a £10 bet when you sign up through Darts Betting Tips. They have great money-back specials on all sorts of markets and are perhaps the most fun bookmaker out there.

Victor Chandler as a well established name in sports betting and they really get behind the great sport of darts. They’ll give you up to a £100 free sports bet, as well as casino chips is you sign up there. There’s not a better offer available and I’ve taken advantage of this for tonight’s tips, and I think you should too. Hey, if the tips win, great, but if, for some strange reason, they don’t, you’ve lost nothing!

Boylesports are another great bookmaker for darts. They have a huge variety of markets and they have a nice £20 deposit bonus. You deposit and bet £20, they match it. Simples!

are big supporters of darts. We find their markets to be amongst the best when it comes to darts betting, which is why we proudly support them. Plus, their £25 match bet is a fantastic offer, probably the best out there at the moment. So, why not sign up, deposit and have a nibble on our first tip of the night and Stan James will match it:

Seriously, if you don’t have accounts at any of these bookmakers, sign up, deposit and use your free bet to have a dabble on tonight’s tips. Now that that’s out of the way and you’ve got your free bets, let’s get the tips going.

Gary Anderson vs Wayne Jones

The 180 machine known as Gary Anderson came through his previous match with great ease, which doesn’t bode well for Wayne Jones. While both men have been known to struggle with their doubling, Anderson’s scoring should see him through in this race to 16. However, the handicap line is –3.5 and I think Anderson has enough to win 16-12 or better.

Gary Anderson –3.5 against Wayne Jones: 9/10 @ Boylesports

Recommend: 2.5 units @ 9/10

James Wade vs Terry Jenkins:

Wade hasn’t impressed me in the Grand Slam of Darts yet, but this longer format should suit him. That being said, after watching Terry Jenkins decimate Tony O’Shea from 4-1 down, Wade might just have his work cut out unless he can pick up his form. Wade averaged around the 92 mark in his win over Mervyn King, while Jenkins averaged almost 97, so the price of Jenkins is a tad baffling.

Terry Jenkins to beat James Wade: 2/1 @ Boylesports

Recommend: 1 unit @ 2/1

That’s all for now, but remember to come back for the evening session tips and while you’re waiting, get on over to Betfair, where you can have a bet on all the day’s sports, not just the darts.

Enjoy the darts, enjoy the first day of your weekend, as always, most importantly, happy betting!
