Grand Slam of Darts 2013 Day Three Premium Picks.

A great day of darts again, and it was another profitable night for the Premium Picks. The Premium Picks made profit of 5.25 units last night, which takes us to 7.8 for the first two days of the tournament. And we hit the bar with Andy Hamilton dropping one leg against Mark Walsh, when he had darts to go 4-0 up and put us on course for a handy winner. Still, we won’t complain, as a winning session is still good, thanks in no small part to Ronny Huybrechts doing the business at a tasty 9/2. Short format darts, and with Adrian Lewis so inconsistent, it was screaming value, and it came in. Happy days.

Today we’re back to the traditional one session of darts, and it promises to be a thrill-a-minute with nearly every match being important. We’ve got a few players through, but there are still a lot of men needing a win tonight to keep their Grand Slam of Darts hopes alive. One of those men is the defending champion, Raymond van Barneveld. He needs a win over Mervyn King tonight to guarantee his place. Of course, King also needs a win, as does Tony O’Shea, and Ricky Evans still has an outside chance if the leg difference goes his way. Group F, well, if we see two 5-0 wins for Robert Thornton and Mark Walsh, it’s a four-horse race, although being realistic, it’s a three-way dance for the places. It’s a similar story in Group G, with Simon Whitlock, Wes Newton and Mark Webster the realistic challengers, while Ross Smith needs a big win for himself and Whitlock. As for Group H, it’s a straight shootout between Ted Hankey and Michael Smith for the right to join Scott Waites in the second round. So that has all the hallmarks of a classic, especially with the showman that is Ted Hankey. So, all in all, we’ve got a huge night ahead of us.
