Welcome to Week 2 of the post-coronavirus break Bundesliga!
We got off to a sensational start with the return of the Bundesliga. I was feeling pretty nervous about it to be honest as I wasn’t sure what conclusions to draw from the break.
However we won with our big play of 3u on Dortmund -1 and it wasn’t even close. Dortmund absolutely walked that one with a 4-0 victory over Schalke.
We also won with our 1u play on over 2.5 goals in the Eintracht Frankfurt versus Borussia Monchengladbach match. That one got off to a great start with Monchengladbach up 2-0 after just 7 minutes.
Things were a bit slow for the remainder of the game but they got a penalty to go up 3-0 and win our bet.
I did a 1u play the next day on Cologne and unfortunately they blew a 2-0 lead which was frustrating to draw 2-2.
So we’ve got one Bundesliga clash taking place on Friday which is Hertha Berlin versus Union Berlin then a busy day with five games on Saturday, and then three games on the Sunday.
Figure we will cover the Hertha vs Union game here then tomorrow cover Saturdays action and so forth. There is Belarus football taking place on Saturday too so I will try and slot that in at some point.
Hertha Berlin vs Union Berlin Betting Tips:
Hertha Berlin returned from the break with a big 3-0 win “away” over Hoffenheim. It took until the 2nd half in what was actually a fairly even game.
Union Berlin lost to Bayern Munich. They did what they could there but a Lewandowski penalty put Munich ahead then Pavard cemented it
In the Bundesliga, both teams are likely save from relegation and Hertha are in 11th, Union 12th with just 1 point separating them. Stats wise they are fairly close.
Personally I thought Hertha were rather fortunate over Hoffenheim – and xG maps suggest that is the case as well. Union had a strategy they utilized against Munich but hey not much you can do there.
The bookies sort of agree with me with Hertha as 2.30 favourites so they are favoured but not overwhelmingly so.
I think Union can get something out of this match but Draw or Union Berlin isn’t worth it at 1.57 odds.
Considering the lack of clean sheets these two have had, and their scoring rates I like there to be goals in this game.
