A 1-1 record in NBA last night.

We took the Miami Heat over the Brooklyn Nets last night and this one was in the bag until the final few seconds of the game. The Heat lead for the entire second and third quarters and much of the fourth quarter. With four minutes and fourteen seconds left, the score was 109-103 Heat. The Nets then took over, finishing the game on a 14-4 run. Blah. It’s nice to see the Nets end that losing streak, but this loss stunk.

We did manage to get the win with the Bucks over the Kings. The Bucks have been very good to us all season and they continued that here. The Bucks came out 34-18 in the first quarter and never looked back. Eric Bledsoe had a big one with 27 points and they also got 18 off the bench from Donte DiVincenzo.

Graeme will have some NFL tips today, but there is a good slate of NBA games today. Let’s get into those.

Philadelphia 76ers at Dallas Mavericks Betting Tips:

This is a real interesting game as the Mavs will be without Kristaps Porzingis and the Sixers are without Joel Embiid. That’s two big, literally big, pieces of these teams and they will play much differently without them.

These two teams played earlier this year and we saw the Mavericks throw a lot of zone at Philadelphia which really frustrated them. Philadelphia’s shooting game is not great and they’ve relied heavily on the sheer talent of their starting lineup this season. Without Embiid, I think they could struggle here tonight. That zone defense will still work and Luka Doncic is a wizard.

Milwaukee Bucks vs. Portland Trail Blazers Betting Tips:

One general rule I have in the NBA is that I don’t like to bet on teams who are playing their third game in four nights and the second half of a back-to-back. I am going to stick with that rule tonight, but if I was ever going to break it – tonight would be the night.

The Bucks are great, obviously. Giannis Antetokounmpo is the MVP and they have a great offense, great defense, and a really solid depth. The Blazers have a pretty good offense and that’s about it.

These two teams played earlier this season and it was an absolute scoring party. The Bucks won 137-129 at home and I could see this one being that type of game. The Bucks will be tired here, but they have a will to win. I think that tiredness will show more on defensive than on offensive here.

The Blazers always play hard and they tend to show up at home. Again, I don’t like them to win this one, but I can see them scoring over 110 points which is what they are going to need to help send this one over.

I really want to take the Bucks -6.5, but I am going to settle for the over here.
