Hope everyone is getting excited for the Superbowl. We here at the offices are PUMPED.

We’ve got a lot of articles planned over the next little while, covering all of the bets and so on that you can make. And of course, we’ll have full freaking analysis of everything.

The line has opened at the Patriots +1. Going to be interesting to see if that changes much. You’d probably be crazy at this point to bet it. Imagine you bet Patriots +1 then Tom Brady gets in a car accident? I know everyone is very impulsive and wants to bet but yeah – hold off on that for now.

Let’s get to the betting tips for January 20th, 2015:

Capital One Cup Betting Tips:

Big game today between Liverpool and Chelsea.

Chelsea are coming off a great 5-0 victory away to Swansea, while Liverpool have managed to string a nice few wins together including two impressive away victories in a row in the EPL, 2-0 against Villa and 1-0 against Sunderland.

In this semi final clash, we are going to be taking Liverpool to win.

They are a relatively huge price of 11/4 and even when Liverpool have been at their worse, we’ve been backing them and making money off them in both cups and will continue to do so. After all of the issues they’ve had – the league is not a priority for them anymore, but a cup victory would appease the fans for sure. They’re taking the cup more seriously than any other team we expect.

Chelsea are focusing more on the league and we think they’ll take this opportunity to rest a couple of players. In saying that they do have a very easy fixture this weekend in the FA Cup, but we just don’t think they’ll take this game as seriously.

We’ll go with Liverpool based mainly on that excellent price.

NBA Betting Tips:

Only two games tonight. Heat take on the Thunder with the Heat getting 6.5 points at home, and the Spurs are also away favourites, as they go to the Nuggets with 8 points to overcome.

We think the Heat have what it takes to keep it close.

Thunder are poor on the road. Yeah they turned it around against the Magic in a big way, but you have to remember they were thumped by the Rockets, Kings, Warriors and Mavs before that. Heat have regained their form including the big win over the Clippers, and are going into this one nice and rested.

We like the Miami Heat to keep this one close – hopefully within two possessions, which will give us some nice breathing room and make it an easy winning night.

NHL Betting Tips:

First one we are going to take is Capitals in regulation. They are hosting the Edmonton Oilers, and theoretically should walk all over the Oilers. To their credit, the Oilers have kept a lot of their recent losses close. Since the start of the year they’re playing a bit better and while Washington should win, we’re just not confident enough that they can run up the score – especially after suffering back to back losses they might be a tad cautious.

We also like the Nashville Predators to upset the Montreal Canadiens. Habs have struggled against the West with an 8-7-1 record, and the Predators are the 2nd best team in the West. Have to go with them here.
