At the risk of this becoming a Warriors blog, the Warriors did it again last night. I had a good feeling they would dominate the Lakers without Lonzo Ball and LeBron James, but this was something special. Klay Thompson scored 44 points and tied an NBA record by starting 10-for-10 from three-point range. He missed his 11th and then hit the bench after just 27 minutes played. DeMarcus Cousins played his second game 8 points and 9 rebounds in 21 minutes. I think he’ll fit in just fine.

Whatever was bothering this team earlier in the season appears to be over with and they once again look like the favorite to win the whole thing. As earlier as a couple of weeks ago there were people predicting their demise and labeling them as vulnerable. I just don’t buy that anymore and think the three-peat is very much in play.

What happens after that is the real question as the future of Kevin Durant will be the top story in the NBA until he signs his next contract. Hopefully the team can put that to the back of their mind though (unlike earlier in the season) and just play this one out. This is one of the greatest teams of all-time and it’d be nice to seem them reach their potential.

NHL Betting Tips:

The Oilers are just too talented to be 23-23-6 this year. They’ve had some troubles and replacing their coach did a lot for them, but they are still firmly in the middle of the standings. I really like their match-up today though as they face the Detroit Red Wings have been one of the worst teams in the league this season. The Oilers should handle them and get to a game over .500 here.

One game I am really excited to watch is the San Jose Sharks and the Washington Capitals. The Sharks have been giving up a ton of goals of late, three straight losses with six goals allowed in each, and today they face the Capitals who are one of the top offenses in the league. The Sharks are coming off a 8-5 loss to the Blackhawks and, no, that’s not a misprint. I think this game has the same potential for wild scoring and will be taking the over here.

NBA Betting Tips:

The one game that I am focusing on today is the Phoenix Suns and the Minnesota Timberwolves. One of my favorite things about the NBA is just how hard it is to beat the same team two times in a week. It shows how good these guys are. Well, Phoenix is heading home from a four-game road trip that saw them lose the last game to the Minnesota Timberwolves. Today they play the Wolves at home and I like them to get some revenge. DeAndre Ayton is listed as doubtful for this one, which hurts, but the last game was settled by just two points and the Suns are getting points at home here.
