Five days into 2015 and we’re already swimming in sport. It’s great, isn’t it? January 5th, 2015 brings with it all sorts of betting opportunities, and since we’re getting to these late, let’s get onto the free sports betting tips for today.

NBA Betting Tip:

Oklahoma vs Golden State.

The no-brainer play here would be Golden State moneyline, but there’s no value in that. However, the Warriors are a big scoring team in Oakland, so we’re going to see them get a lot of points on the board tonight. We like them a lot, and the line is a paltry -2.5, so get on Golden State Warriors -2.5 to beat Oklahoma City Thunder and hope they can continue this unbelievable home form against a strong Thunder side.

NHL Betting Tip:

San Jose vs Winnipeg.

Only the one game tonight, but we’ve got an view on it, which is always helpful. It’s a tale of two teams here, one that is scoring for fun, the other that is sturggling to score, but is also keeping teams out. San Jose will be trying to continue their tight defense against the free-scoring Jets, but the team from Winnipeg are looking fierce. We like the Winnipeg Jets to beat the San Jose Sharks and there’s a lot of value to be hard, as the bookies can’t seem to call it. We think the big win for Winnipeg on Saturday that snapped their streak sets them up nicely for tonight. The value is there, so get stuck into it.

BDO World Championship Darts Tip:

Our darts tipper has one for you tomorrow afternoon GMT. He’s a happy man with more darts on the TV even after the PDC World Championship Final.

Rick Hofstra vs Jim Widmayer.

Big Jim, or Captain America came through his Prelim match today with a shaky performance. He’s going to have his work cut out against the experienced Rick Hofstra. Widmayer was shocking on his doubling, inconsistent with his scoring and you have to think Hofstra has far too much in the tank for him, even simply a flourish of power-scoring now and again. A few minutes of consistency will get the Dutchman over the line. However, outright Hofstra is no value. But the handicap line is a nice -1.5 sets, and since we can see a 3-1 or 3-0 win for the favourite here, get on Rick Hofstra -1.5 sets to beat Jim Widmayer. Some of the prelim players have come out stronger in their first round matches, but Widmayer is not an unknown quantity, and he doesn’t have much more in his locker than what he showed today.
