Welcome to the Sports Betting Tips for January 6th, 2015.

I can’t believe we’re already almost a week into the New Year. Holy crap does time ever just fly by.

Last night Canada beat Russia in the World Juniors in a tremendous game. Great to see Canada take it down after a bit of a drought. A lot of quality seeping through that team – wonder which unlucky saps end up on the Edmonton Oilers next season.

Just as we’re going to press, it was announced the Leafs have fired Carlyle. Not sure what to think of that. Inside the Ontario goldfish bowl it’s generally considered “long overdue”. However this is a guy with a .535 record during his tenure – and sure Leafs have had a bad month but does seem a bit crazy. Oh well – we’ll see how things go.

Tips wise – let’s see what we have tonight:

NBA Betting Tips:

We’ll be taking the Pistons +8 tonight in what is a big game for them against the San Antonio Spurs. Pistons are playing some great ball and have really gelled together since releasing Josh Smith. We’re seeing some great team play from them.

Spurs may have Parker back tonight but you can’t see him playing a full shift. And Brandon Jennings is on a high at the moment. Spurs should win this game, but 8 points for the way the Pistons are played and how stingy their defense has been lately is something that we here at the SportsBettingTips.org offices are loving.

FA Cup Betting Tips:

Battle of the Premier League teams as Everton take on West Ham.

It’s been a very poor season for Everton after a lot of high expectations. They’re on a bad run form wise – but that’s great for us. Sure West Han have had some solid results lately but it means we’re getting a big price of almost evens on Everton to win. We’re getting 19/20 odds on the Toffees doing the business tonight.

To them, this is essentially an FA Cup Final. It’s just a massive game and although they are struggling in the league, they can still do well in the cup and take some heat off the team.

Back Everton for the win tonight.

NHL Betting Tips:

We’ll be taking the Flyers at 1.83 odds this evening. Both teams are struggling but the Flyers are a team who at this point in the season are getting a vision – and they know they need to start winning. They also match up well with the Sens.

We’re also going to go with Under 5.5 goals in Oilers vs Red Wings as our final bet of the evening. Believe it or not the Edmonton Oilers are starting to really tighten up and impress. We like what we are seeing from them at the moment and home is where they actually do well. Wings might win but it will be a very tight one.

Enjoy the games.
