Welcome to the Sports Betting Tips for January 8th, 2016.

Hopefully everyone got on the golf because things aren’t looking too bad at the moment. Patrick Reed is a Top 4 pick for us in the Hyundai TOC and he is leading at the moment. Our other pick is Brandt Snedeker at 11/1 for Top 4 and he tied for 3rd so far. Only one round gone though – so a lot of golf still to go.

In the BMW SA Open it’s not looking too good. Trevor Fisher Jr. is sitting at par while Brandon Stone had a -5 day and is at -6. Fisher Jr needs to step it up.

Tonight we’re going focus on the NHL. Let’s get to it:

NHL Betting Picks:

Bruins vs Devils Betting Tips: The Boston Bruins will be looking for a successful road trip after some really poor games at home lately. However they will be without Adam McQuaid as well as David Krejci – both big players. The Devils remain without Cammalleri. These teams have already played where Boston won 2-1 in a shootout. I see another quiet game and will be taking Under 5 goals. Devils haven’t had a game go over 5 since December 22nd.

Blue Jackets vs Hurricanes Betting Tips: The Canes had some great performances against the Jackets last season. Jackets will debut Seth Jones but will be missing Ryan Johansen. It’s a big loss for the Blue Jackets and I don’t know if they have what it takes at the moment to get the win. Carolina have also played some good hockey in the last month and I’ll be taking Carolina to win.

Blackhawks vs Sabres Betting Tips: You have to go back to 2009 when the Blackhawks last lost to Buffalo. However a lot of the games between the two have been tight – not like it’s constant blowouts. In December, the Hawks needed a shootout. We’ll take Over 5 goals in this one. Being on the road we expect Buffalo to throw caution to the wind.

Predators vs Avalanche Betting Tips: Johansen will make his debut apparently and that should be very interesting. Avalanche have won the last two against Nashville so it’s a very tricky one – but I think Johansen will be a big hit and get off to a good start, and will take Predators for the win.

Lightning vs Oilers Betting Tips: The Oilers aren’t really in a good place at the moment but they’re starting to get a bit better. They’ve got back to back wins at the Rexall with both games going to OT. Tampa are the better team but have been disappointing. Have to take the underdog Oilers for the win as they usually show up at Rexall.

Blues vs Ducks Betting Tips: The Blues have really struggled lately. Ducks also haven’t been too convincing with special teams being the deciding factor. This is an iffy one and you have to wonder if Anaheim can pick themselves up after the 4-0 loss to the Leafs. Last time that happened was against the Canes in December when they lost 5-1, and they lost the next game to Buffalo 3-0. Take Under 5 goals.
