A 1-2 record last night.

A big mistake that bettors make is when they fall behind, they try and catch it all up in one night. I said to myself yesterday that I was going to go with the Astros and only the Astros, but after running the system I liked those other two games.

Well, the Astros won and those other two games lost. The hard thing about doing this every day is that I want picks every day, but some days aren’t worth it. If you have to dig, don’t do it. Yesterday wasn’t worth it outside of the Astros. Lesson learned. Be picky. It’s a long season.

So I am going to be picky today. The system thinks the line on the Rays/Yankees is inverted today as the Rays will be going bullpen, but I’ll be skipping that. I also wanted to go Brewers with Freddy Peralta over the Nationals, but the numbers just aren’t there.

Despite being picky, there are three picks today. I promise I am being picky though. These numbers just blew away anything I’ve seen in the last few days.

Pittsburgh Pirates vs. Cleveland Indians Betting Tips:

A little late to the party here, but the over looks good again today. Jameson Taillon is on a nice little run of late, but that’s easy to do when you are facing the Reds, Brewers, Phillies, Padres and Mets. The Indians are a far better offense than any of that group and this park can be tough on pitchers.

Trevor Bauer goes for the Indians and while he’s having a great season, he’s looked human his last two times out and the Pirates are absolutely scorching right now.

Houston Astros vs. Colorado Rockies Betting Tips:

I don’t know why the sportsbooks are afraid of pricing the Astros properly at Coors, but I am okay with it. While Jon Gray has some nice peripherals, he is a right handed pitcher against the Astros. He’s had some really bad BABIP luck this year and while I don’t think that will continue, it wouldn’t really hurt either. The Astros are one of the top hitting offenses in the game, especially against righties, and I love them at this price. They have a way of getting to bullpens (see: last night) and the Rockies bullpen, despite being really expensive, is not all that great.

Charlie Morton has had a couple of rough starts, but he still has the big strikeout stuff and the Rockies have just a 81 wRC+ against righties.

Los Angeles Angels vs. Chicago White Sox Betting Tips:

James Shields is one of my favorite pitchers to target, especially on the road. He has a 5.47 ERA/5.20 FIP on the road this year and the Angels are great against righties.

Tyler Skaggs is having a very nice season with a 2.68 ERA/3.10 FIP with the White Sox having just a 87 wRC+ against lefties on the year. This is a good place to grab the Angels and lay the runs.
