Yesterday was a good day in sports all around. In baseball, we had Cole Hamels pitch a shutout against the Chicago Cubs. That should definitely improve his trade value heading into the deadline and it will be exciting to see where he ends up. We also saw the Mets of all teams explode for 15 runs. Before that outburst they were the lowest scoring team in the National League and second worst in all of baseball.

There was also the UFC on Fox event where Tom Lawlor (who we tipped yesterday) scored a one punch knockout on Gian Villante to score the upset. This is a crazy knockout and you should definitely seek it out if you missed it.

Today we have a full slate of MLB games and some CFL action to tip for you. There are some good early games in baseball so make sure you get on them.

MLB Betting Tips:

After a strong start to the season, Tajuan Walker of the Mariners has had it really rough lately. His last three starts have seen him give up 5, 6 and 5 runs while also allowing 5 homeruns and 20 hits in just 15 1/3 innings. Those are not good numbers and they don’t look to get any better against Toronto, one of the best offenses in the league. The Mariners offense has been playing well lately as well and Mark Buehrle should always them some chances to score. Between Walker’s potential for disaster and Buehrle been hittable I fully expect Mariners/Blue Jays to go over 7.5 runs.

The series is on the line in the Astros and Royals game today. This potential playoff match-up has been a great series thus far and today’s game features Dallas Keuchel taking the mound for the Astros. Keuchel has been great this season with a 12-4 record and 2.12 ERA. He’s led the Astros in their surprise season and a strong second half would do a lot for their playoff chances. He goes against Yordano Ventura who has mostly been the opposite. He’s 4-7 with a 5.19 ERA on the season. Over his last three games he’s been even worse with an 8.25 ERA and only making it to the fifth inning once. This line is too low for the pitching match-up and we fully expect the Astros to take the series. Look out Angels, they’re coming for you. Take Astros -132.

CFL Betting Tips

The winless Riders have had a rough go of it this season. In week 1 they lost by just four to the Riders, in week 2 they dropped a close one in overtime to Argos, then in week 3 they lost in overtime again this time to the Lions and then they lost in week 4 to the Lions by just three points. They are clearly a good football team who has played close in every game, but just lost at the end. We think today is the day that they get themselves back on track. Riders -1 is the play here.
