Sorry for the lateness of the post, but we’ve been getting carried away after the NBA Draft, and then the Copa America, the golf and the Women’s World Cup. As I write this, France and Germany are going to penalties in the Women’s World Cup. Of course, by the time you read this, it will be all over.

In the NBA Draft, Satnam Singh is actually making quite a few headlines around the world. The 1st Indian-born draft pick is a great thing for the NBA globally, and hopefully he can take the game truly international. On the subject of the NBA Draft, hopefully you took out call of Justise Winslow going over 6th place, as he was picked 10th. There was no real sweat, because as soon as 6th was called, we knew we had a winner on our hands. He wasn’t picked long after, but who cares? frank Kaminsky also got picked higher than the bookies though, so not only was it a good night for NBA fans in general, we went 2-0 with our draft bets. Not bad, really, and it made a fun night all the better with some money at the end of it.

WTA Eastbourne Betting Tip:

The final is between Radwanska and Bencic, and we have to take the young Swiss at the odds. Radwanksa had a tough game against Sloane Stephens, while Bencic got, more or less, a day off, with Caroline Wozniacki retiring 3 games into their semi-final. Bencic has shown that she has the game for grass, reaching the final of the Top Shelf Open in the Netherlands two weeks ago, while Radwanksa has not been in great form as of late, and was pushed hard by Stephens before finally coming through. Belinda Bencic to win is the value bet here, and look for the young Swiss to make an impact at Wimbledon next week, too.

NRL Betting Tip:

We don’t do much in the way of the Australian rugby league, but our resident NRL nut has one bet that he thinks is huge value for Saturday’s game (which will take place very late Friday night/very early Saturday morning elsewhere in the world). Cronulla Sharks to beat North Queensland Cowboys is the value bet of the day. Why? Two letters – JT. The Cowboys are without their talismanic playmaker Jonathan Thurston, and that’s going to hurt them against a resurgent Sharks side that are looking to make the top 8, after being written off this season. Sure, the Cowboys are a class side, but without their playmaker, things will be tough. The Sharks want to keep their form going, and what better way to do it than beat one of the competition’s big guns? It’s definitely the value play, so you have to get on purely for that value being offered.

Bet: Bet on the NRL at Bet365.

MLB Betting Tips:

We’re cutting it fine on this, with the first pitch in just over 3 hours, but get on the Arizona Diamondbacks to beat San Diego Padres in the night’s real value. While the pitching match-up for Arizona doesn’t look great, with Tyson Ross dominating them last time out, the Padres have not looked the same side in their last few outings, while Arizona haven’t looked bad at all. I’m a firm believer in momentum, and the momentum the Padres had have just stalled slightly. There’s an inkling of value on the Diamondbacks, and I wouldn’t be surprised to see them turn the tables on Tyson Ross tonight.
