We have a possible playoff preview tonight as the Cavaliers face the Pistons. If the season ended today, these two teams would meet in the three versus six series and it would be a good one. Joel Embiid is a real problem and the lack of size for the Cavs could be a problem against him. That said, he is young and his teammate Ben Simmons is even more raw. His lack of shooting could be a problem as I think the Cavs would just dare him to shoot in a playoff series. That wouldn’t go well for him.

The Cavs are in flux right now, but they still have LeBron James and that makes them a threat on any given night. Without Kevin Love this is a team that lives and dies by it’s streaky shooters, Jordan Clarkson and JR Smith. When they are on, look out. When they are off? Well, let’s hope someone else gets hot. This should be an interesting game.

NBA Betting Tips:

The Miami Heat are starting to play really well as of late. Dwyane Wade won them a big game against Philly the other night and things have just started to click. They are 7-3 in the second half of the season and draw a great match-up at home against the Lakers. They Lakers have been impressing of late, but this is still a lottery team that should struggle against a top six defense. The Heat -4.5 is the play here.

The Cavs have one of the worst records against the spread at home in the NBA at 6-23. This is because they are often big favorites while playing a close game. Not playing defense for half of the season will do that to you. They’ve won four straight against the Sixers though and the last three have been by seven or more. For whatever reason, playing against a young team with people trying to usurp him motivates LeBron James. I am expecting that to happen here tonight and going with the Cavs -2.5.

NHL Betting Tips:

The Bruins stole the trade deadline as they added Rick Nash. He is the perfect fit on their second line and makes this team a serious Stanley Cup contender. The Penguins are always a contender for that Cup as well so tonight’s game should be a good one. These two teams have played some really high scoring games of late and we think that will be no different tonight. Over 6 goals feels well within reach and this should be a fun one.

Edmonton’s defense and goaltending have been a disaster this season and I think the Predators should be able to jump all over that. This team is looking to return to the Stanley Cup finals after last year’s loss and I like them to get it done here. Predators -149 should grab a much needed road win here as things continue to go bad for the Oilers.
