One thing I always have fun doing is picking a random league that I pay slight attention to then trying to come up with betting tips for it.
Today we’re going to do French Ligue 1.
It’s nice as I don’t have any real bias towards it. I follow the results and study it and watch the occasional game but I am able to go in without any preconceptions over the games or anything.
I looked through the five games taking place on Sunday, March 3rd and I spotted two potential betting opportunities.
Let’s get to it:
Guingamp vs Nantes Betting Tips:
Guingamp are currently bottom of Ligue 1 and staring relegation in the face. Nantes are in the bottom half of the table.
Guingamp are a poor team overall and one of their biggest problems is their inability to score. However they have managed to grind out two tight performances lately.
They drew 0-0 in Bordeaux then defeated Angers 1-0 at home which was nice and I am hoping they can build on that.
Nantes have been very inconsistent lately and are very poor away.
It’s one of those games I’m always happy to bet – when a team has a lot to play for versus a team who doesn’t. Nantes got that good win over Bordeaux and that has most likely made them safe. They may be complacent here and Guingamp I’ve got to think with battle all the way.
Well worth a play at the price. My only concern is Guingamps ability to score but Nantes do concede a decent amount. Both Teams NOT to score at 1.75 might be the better bet and I’ll regret it in hindsight but I’m going to go with Guingamp.

Lille vs Dijon Betting Tips:
Lille are an excellent home team and are on a great run at the moment. Dijon are struggling with four losses in their last four games and only 1 goal against Marseille in that span. Marseille have a crap defence too.
Lille want to cement second place and they are five points ahead of Lyon at the moment and want to keep it that way. A convincing win over Dijon is something I expect.
Was debating Lille to win with a clean sheet but 2.37 odds for that. You never know when a goal can occur – 90 minutes is a long time – so we’ll go with the handicap instead.
