A 1-1-1 record last night.

It was so close to a winner too as the Bucks held a 78-75 lead at the end of the third quarter. We were getting points with them and they were looking great until the fourth quarter happened and the Jazz went off. Donovan Mitchell carried the load with a career-high 46 points and the Jazz won… by 4. The same amount of points we were getting.

Our loss was the Lakers at the Suns and I don’t even really know what to say here. The Lakers have let us down a lot in the post-LeBron James injury era, but this one really takes the cake. I could see a win with no cover, but they were never in this one. I am over this team. Devin Booker and DeAndre Ayton combined for 51 points here.

We got the win with the 76ers getting points at home. This was a lot closer than we’d like with a 120-117 finish, but that still covered the spread. This one was all about the superstars as Kevin Durant, DeMarcus Cousins and Stephen Curry combined for 89 of the the Warriors 120 points.

A nice slate today with some early games. I typically avoid the ones early in the afternoon as there is just not a big enough sample on them and you never really know what the deal is with teams and their rest the night before. NBA players are built to be up late at night and peak during the games. These early ones mess with that and some adjust better than others.

Chicago Bulls vs. Atlanta Hawks: Just wanted to shout this one out as these two teams played one of the craziest games of all-time on Friday, a 168-161 quadruple overtime thriller. I am tempted by the over here, but I feel it might be set to catch people who saw that and want in on the action. It’s hard to imagine these teams doing THAT again, but Trae Young is ballin’ right now and the Bulls are playing some nice basketball of late.

Orlando Magic vs. Cleveland Cavaliers Betting Tips:

The Magic are playing their best basketball of the season right now as they’ve won three out of their past four. That streak isn’t as impressive as who they’ve beaten during that stretch as they’ve taken down Toronto, Golden State and Indiana in the wins. That’s the sign of a good team that is turning the corner in their development. Nikola Vucevic is having a really nice season and should be in the All-NBA discussion and I just really like where this team is at now. They have their core and know who they want to be going forward.

The Cavs are… not that. This team is like one of those towns in Europe that people can never live in again thanks to World War II. LeBron James just came and won a championship and now this team is just… this. The players are likely making vacation plans at this point and the front office is definitely looking towards the draft. Orlando should roll here.
