End of the working week, and we’re nearing the end of the NBA and NHL seasons. Of course, we’re still no nearer knowing who’s going to win the series between the Clippers and the Rockets, thanks to one of the shock results of the playoffs so far. Sure, the Rockets winning was not a real surprise given the way many series have gone so far, but to win by 12 after trailing by 13 at the end of the third quarter just sums up how much of a shock it is. Keeping the Clippers to 15 in the final quarter? Just unbelievable from the Rockets. Game 7 is in Houston on Sunday, and it’s a pick ’em right now, it really is. Elsewhere, the Cavs smashed the Bulls by 21 points to secure their spot in the Eastern Conference Final. Not a great game, but the Cavs did what they needed to do and found points from elsewhere.
And if you’re looking for shocks outside of the NBA, Dnipro fans will be on Cloud 9, having beaten Italian side Napoli to clinch a place in the Europa League Final against Sevilla. It’s a huge win for Dnipro, who have overcome the odds time and time again in the competition.
Tonight, we have two Game 6s, and before that there’s a huge match in the English Championship Playoffs, with the first semi-final between Middlesbrough and Brentford taking place in the north-east of England.
NBA Playoff Betting Tips:
Hawks look to close out the series against the Wizards tonight, and will be looking to keep Paul Pierce in his place after Pierce’s taunt towards the Hawks’ bench in Game 5. what’s worth noting is the Wizards’ strong home form during the playoffs, so the 3 point line is low. The Wizards will want to keep the series alive, so they’re going to be going at this hard, after the hurt of Game 5 they’re going to be going for it. Wizards -3 is what we’re going for here, as it will be tight, but the Wizards should squeeze it.
The key for the Grizzlies against the Warriors is the health of Tony Allen. He was missed in Game 5, and although his hamstring injury might have eased off, there are too many questions over such a key player during the series to see anything other than a comfortable Warriors win. The line is low for a team that are dangerous everywhere in the court, so Warriors -5 and close out the series comfortably is the definite play here for us.
English Championship Playoffs Semi-Final Second Leg Betting Tip
Middlesbrough vs Brentford.
A long trip up to Middlesbrough for Brentford tonight, and they know their season hangs in the balance after a 2-1 defeat at home in the first leg. Long story short, Brentford need to come out and attack Middlebrough to keep their season alive. Middlesbrough know that avoiding defeat is the key here. And so far this season, Boro haven’t looked like losing to Brentford at all, never mind at home. Brentford went down 4-0 at the Riverside this season, and have lost both times at home, too. The Evens about a Middlesbrough win are huge, given that Brentford are going to be throwing everything at them, and all they have to do is wait patiently and hit them on the counter-attack.
