MLB & NBA Eastern Conference betting tips for May 17th, 2022.
2-2-1 in MLB last night.
The Brewers did it to us once again. They were our push last night and then put up a run in the sixth. I think they’ve done it to us multiple times now, but at least we ended with a push.
The Angels loss was over right away with Noah Syndergaard giving up six runs in the first inning. He didn’t have his best stuff, but he had some bad luck as well. A ton of singles, an error by his defense, and then the reliever allowing two runs. There’s a scenario where he gets out of that one down 4-3, but it was not this one.
Our other loss was the Mariners as Kikuchi dominated his former team.

Boston Celtics at Miami Heat Betting Tips:
The Conference Finals are here and we are guaranteed to see a new NBA champion. While I am disappointed in the result of the team I picked not making it, that’s pretty cool and this should be one heck of a series.
Both of these defenses are among the best in the NBA. Boston had the best defense in the NBA during the regular season while Miami ranked fourth.
Boston is probably the better team in this series. They have the better defense and their offense is a few ticks ahead of Miami’s. I also like the fact that Boston knows exactly what their rotation is while Miami is almost cursed with having too many players. Throw in the way that Miami has played on the road in these playoffs and it doesn’t look good for them in the series.

That said, tonight should be a different story. I tip using rest a lot during the regular season and that should be a factor here. Boston just played a grueling seven game series that ended two days ago. They’ve had little time to prepare and rest for this match-up.
Miami hasn’t played since Thursday and they should be well rested and well prepared for this one. They, like pretty much everyone in these playoffs, has played much better at home thus far. The Heat have shot 10% better from three in Miami thus far. They are an extremely well coached team that thrives in the video room.
I think Miami are going to come out strong here. They’re going to need to if they want to make this a series.

I was very happy to see this one pop up as a favorite today because I will be at this game. This will be my first game since 2019 which is pretty crazy to think about. I live about fifteen minutes from the park, but for some reason I haven’t been in a few years now. Can’t think of any reason off the top of my head why that might be.
This bet is being carried by the recent play. Houser has been good early and the Brewers offense has been smoking of late. Atlanta’s offense is still slightly below average and is yet to heat up.
Davidson is a bit of a question mark. The projections have him really struggling with walks which has been true of him in his limited time in the majors and his minor league career. He’s been taken deep a lot as well and Milwaukee is a good park for that.

This is in Coors, but Cobb has been cooking early this season. He has a huge strikeout rate, a strong groundball rate, and a low homerun rate. That is the perfect pitcher to trust at Coors Field. Colorado has just an 88 wRC+ against righties on the season.

The Giants offense has hit righties very well early and Chad Kuhl is due for some regression. He’s not as good as his ERA or even his FIP. The rest of the season projections have him at 5.15 ERA/4.87 FIP. He gives up walks and his homerun rate is bound to go up.
