The Diamondbacks extended their losing streak to four games with a loss last night. We got a solid start from Zack Greinke like we thought as he ended up with three earned runs in seven innings, but that ended up being too much as Arizona lost 3-2.
We also took the Rockies over the Pirates and this one went very well. German Marquez had another excellent road start as he shut out the Pirates while Chris Archer continued to struggle. The Rockies won 5-0.
Programming note: I am going to be out of town from tomorrow to Monday. I am bringing my laptop and will do my best to get some tips up during that time, but I am not making any promises. The Twins are a hard team to stay away from right now as their offense has really been doing well of late. It’s especially hard to stay away from them when they face a pitcher like Matt Harvey. He has a 6.35 ERA/5.11 FIP on the season with high walks and low strikeouts. The Twins offense is very dangerous against righties and I see them having a nice game today.
The Twins send Martin Perez who is not impressive, but is very solid. He has a 2.89 ERA/3.37 FIP on the season and the Angels have been below average against lefties on the season.
