What a performance we saw last night from the Cleveland Cavaliers. An NBA record for three pointers in a half and then the NBA record for three pointers in a game. They were making everything in sight and it now seems impossible for the Atlanta Hawks to even win one game in this series. The Cavs are just too good and they look like they are going to put up a real fight against whoever they meet in the NBA Finals. It should be very interesting going forward, but I don’t think anyone is stopping them from getting to the Finals once again.

Tonight we see the two teams that are battling to see who faces them in the Eastern Conference Finals. The Toronto Raptors miraculously forced overtime in game one, but they were just not on the Heat’s level the entire game. Kyle Lowry’s struggles are ruining whatever chances the Raptors had to make it the Eastern Conference Finals and this series is now firmly in Miami’s hand. This was actually the seventh straight game one loss for the Raptors, which is just terrible. The Raptors need to come out strong tonight if they want to make this a series.

We also have a full slate of MLB games tonight including a match-up between the two best teams in the National League as the Chicago Cubs host the Washington Nationals. This is a big series to watch and it will be interesting to see just how good these teams are.

MLB Betting Tips:

In a rotation with Stephen Strasburg and Max Scherzer, you may be surprised to know that the Nationals best pitcher thus far this season has been tonight’s starter: Joe Ross. He’s currently 3-0 with a 0.79 ERA and a 0.97 WHIP. Those are tiny, tiny numbers and he’ll get his biggest challenge of the season tonight against the Cubs. He goes against Kyle Hendricks who is a solid starter, but the 3.52 ERA is nearly two and a half runs higher than Ross. Hendricks also doesn’t go very deep into games and I think I have to give the advantage to the Nats tonight. Game one goes to Washington +140.

The AL West is currently controlled by the Seattle Mariners, but everyone expects the Astros to win it this season. Those two teams meet tonight and I like the match-up for Seattle. Wade Miley goes for the Mariners he hasn’t had the best start to the season, but he is coming off a complete game shutout against the Royals. I like him to continue that roll tonight as the Astros are just 1-4 against lefties this season. Chris Devenski starts for the Astros in his second start of the year. He was decent in his first start, but his 54 strikes in 91 pitches is something I think the Mariners will take advantage of and extend their lead. Mariners +105.

NBA Betting Tips:

Game one was pretty ugly from a quality of play perspective and I expect that to continue here tonight. The point guard being off his game has a ricochet effect on the entire offense and as long as Lowry is off, the Raptors are off. I think that benefits the Heat in a big way and their brand of basketball soars in this environment. Heat +4.5 is the play here.
