It was a hell of a day yesterday in the NHL. There’s nothing I enjoy more in sports than when a team suffers some sort of emotional trauma or ordeal. Wait! Let me finish that sentence.

That happened yesterday with Montreal as they thumped the Flyers 5-0 in a big surprise. Claude Julien had been hospitalized and the Habs responded to that in a special way. Beautiful to see.
Let’s jump right into the NHL Games:
NHL Bets for August 15th:
2u on Over 5.5 in Bruins vs Hurricanes at +125 Odds. Neither team has really been too big defensively since the NHL restarted. Both teams have been solid offensively in the playoffs. The Hurricanes themselves are usually good for about 3 goals per game, while they are actually rather easy to score against.
On a days rest, I like both teams to be motivated and to be able to bring the goods here and get the goals. Bruins especially will be motivated to right the ship and the Canes are a machine.
1u on Avs in Regulation at -110. This is a tricky one. I actually had money on the Coyotes yesterday and lost despite a solid effort from them. It was a big value play and I didn’t hate it. However I am not sure they can pull in the same sort of effort again.
I think this series is one where we are likely to see a sweep now. Coyotes gave it a big effort and now the Avs will take over. I think the Avs have it.

1u on Jackets or Draw at -115 odds – only a play if Korpisalo is in net. I mean just a great price on the Jackets to win although I will go with the safer play. I think it’s ludicrous that the Jackets are such big underdogs here. Yet again people are looking on paper much like they did with the Penguins when it comes to setting the odds.
Jackets beat the Leafs. Jackets sweeped Tampa last year. Jackets beat Tampa last game out and went to 5OT with them. Korpisalo is hot. They should NOT be this big an underdog. Hell they should probably be the favourite.
1u on Over 6 in Knight vs Blackhawks. I’ve won betting the over both times in this series so far so hey why not spend some of my winnings going for it again? There’s no real reason it can’t go over. Even if the Knights are complacent they should wake up if they go a goal or two down and Crawford can’t stop em. Only issue would be if the Blackhawks gave it their all last game and don’t have the mentality here. However I think we’ll see a good performance from the Hawks.
Europa League Tips:
Only the one play which is 2u on Inter Milan to win at -120 odds . Inter are the better team and while Shakhtar have did great to get this far I think that this is as far as they go. Inter ended the season on a really high note and I think they will take control of this game and win potentially with a clean sheet to go with it.
