It’s quite a busy Monday today in the NHL with 5 games going on.

It’s been quite a few busy days actually in hockey. Usually Sunday is quiet but we had a stacked one yesterday.

With 5 games on the go here, there are some key games in the race for the playoff spots. Obviously the top teams are looking to get home ice so that is important for them.

In the race just to make the playoffs, Calgary losing to Chicago has dropped them by 18.6% to just 42.3% chance to make the playoffs. They will be looking to beat Anaheim here and reignite their chances.

Arizona are 51.4% chance after that win over Washington. Islanders are almost there at 85.3% so it’s a big test for them.

Florida are down to 37.6% chance and so need a big win over San Jose.

Let’s go through each game:

Ducks at Flames Bet: The Flames chances to make the playoffs have dropped drastically the last few days. They went from being over 50% to just 42%. They did just beat Anaheim 6-0 when these two last played. Anaheim were able to bounce back strong after that loss however by thrashing Vancouver, and they will be up for this one. Ducks come in with solid road performances too. With the Flames needing a big performance to get back in the playoff race, and the Ducks looking for revenge, this should be an all out battle. 3u on Over 5.5 Goals at -110 odds.

Panthers at Sharks Bet: San Jose can’t make the playoffs unless they run the board. They come into this one however off the back of wins on the road over the Wild and Jets. They have struggled at home though losing their last three games here. Florida just aren’t showing any fight lately. This does not look like a team who are fighting for their life. Boughner will be motivated for this one too. Sharks are missing a few key players though which is enough to keep me away from the bet here, although I lean San Jose to still beat Florida.

Islanders at Coyotes Bet: Arizona have seen their playoff hopes dropping by the day however they turned it around with that win over Washington. Now they’ll look to follow that up by beating the Islanders. The Islanders have had some tough losses to the Preds and Knights right now. I’d like to see a big game from the Islanders however Coyotes also have a lot to build on here. No bet for me.

Capitals at Knights Bet: Washington come into this one struggling a bi with 5 losses in their last 8 games. Not good for the Capitals. They just had a tough loss to Arizona. Knights have been inconsistent this season. It’s almost like the chase to 700 goals for Ovi is affecting the Capitals. You can see their offensive metrics are getting to the worst of the season for them. Knights meanwhile are on the rise there. Knights have won both home games in the regular season they have played against the Capitals. I do think Capitals might squeak it out here but that is more just off my gut than anything. 1u on Capitals including overtime/shootout at +230.

Lightning at Avalanche Bet: Tampa look to continue their run as they head to Colorado. Colorado have seen their offense dwindle the last two games. Colorado have seen their xG drop lately. Tampa aren’t creating great chances but finishing them off. The Tampa defense is something people don’t talk about enough but they do an excellent job. I’ll take 2u on Lightning at -110 odds.
