For those of you that read the Monday free sports betting tips regularly, I tend to go over what happened at the weekend, a few notes here and there about something that caught my eye or how someone or some team was unlucky. But today I wanted to just have a quick rant before we get to today’s free sports betting tips. You see, being Scottish, I’m constantly reminded of Rent-Boy’s speech in Trainspotting about how it’s not great being Scottish. He uses another word and several others that wouldn’t be suitable as I try to keep the free betting tips PG-rated at worst. After Sunday’s Rugby World Cup semi-final, he’s right. Not only did Scots around the world suffer with the Euro 2016 qualifying and Scotland’s inability to beat Poland, the country’s rugby team was on the verge of causing one of the biggest upsets in the tournament’s history and then it happened. Being Scottish, we’re not allowed to have the fairy-tale ending. No, we get one of the worst refereeing decisions of all time and lose by a point. A single point. It would have been a winnable semi-final against Argentina, too. But no, an entire nation was robbed, and what does the referee do? He runs straight off the pitch and up the tunnel. If you’ve ever watched rugby, you’ll notice how it’s mostly played in good spirit, players shaking hands with each other and officials after each match. Not this time. Yes, the players shook hands, but Craig Joubert decided against that and legged it away before a 125kg Scotsman ripped his head off. So, yes, it’s not great being Scottish, really, at least when it comes to sport.

Anyway, elsewhere the Panthers kept on rolling, getting a huge win on the road against the Seahawks. Brady and Co keep on marching on. Philip Rivers had one of the games of his career, and lost. And in baseball, the Mets lead 2-0 after a relatively easy win over the Cubs last night.

But now I’ve had my rant and dried my eyes, let’s get onto the free sports betting tips for October 19th, 2015.

Monday Night Football Betting Tip:

The Giants are now somehow 3-2 after a horrific start to the season, although they have been cutting it fine, especially last week against the 49’ers. Still, a win’s a win and they’re going into Philadelphia on a high. But the Eagles will be happy, too, coming in off the back of a huge win over the Saints last Sunday. It was a huge confidence booster, for a side that had looked like it was starting to struggle.

It looks quite tight on paper, the Giants 1-1 on the road and the Eagles 1-1 at home. But remember what happened this time last year, with the Giants looking OK – they came to Philly, got smashed 27-0 and then the losing continued. Sure, history could repeat itself, but I can’t see it happening, not tonight. This is going to be nip-and-tuck, and the Giants moneyline actually looks like a bit of value, as there really isn’t much between the sides. However, take the points, and get on Giants +5.5 for tonight’s Monday Night Football action.

Swansea vs Stoke

In the States Monday Night Football brings up a huge rivalry and a game that could make or break seasons. In the UK, what we do have? Swansea versus Stoke in a game to decide who finishes above who in midtable come the end of the season. Great, isn’t it? Anyway, Stoke have finally found winning ways, with a two-game winning streak. Swansea, on the other hand, are winless in four. So all signs point to Stoke, don’t they? Well, possibly, but I like the look of the draw here. Swansea have some big names coming back, while Stoke are missing Mame Diouf. It’s a finely balanced game, so take Swansea vs Stoke – draw as the play here. Plus, Lawro’s tipped a 1-1, and he’s not going to be wrong, is he? Of course not! Get involved!
